If you've got a short bed truck or a gooseneck trailer that cuts in too tight, you know how close things can get in a turn. The 9" offset on this coupler moves the hitch point forward to give your trailer more breathing room up front, helping you clear the cab when backing up or cornering sharp.
The Shift Lock coupler uses a dual-jaw design to grab both sides of the 2-5/16" ball, creating a firm, centered connection that holds steady under tension. Many latches only grab your ball from one side, which can leave room for slop. This one clamps evenly and helps cut the jolt when you take off or stop. The locking handle sits up top, so you can see when it's latched. And if you're leaving your trailer hooked up somewhere, the InfiniteRule lock (IR66FR - sold separately) keeps the latch from being opened so no one can pull up and take it.
Towing capacity is limited by the lowest rated component in your setup.
If you have a recessed gooseneck ball, there must be at least a 12" x 12" opening in your bed for this coupler to work. In addition, the top of the hitch ball cannot be more than 2" from the top of the bed.

Hi, everyone, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at a shocker hitch, the Shocker hitch gooseneck stem. It has a nine inch extension, and it's a coupler at 2 5/16 inch for your gooseneck ball and a square tube. The whole system's rate at 30,000 pounds. So folks, you can completely replace your factory inner tube, the stem, and the coupler all in a matter of minutes. So this nine inch offset is gonna extend that coupler nine inches forward, and it's gonna be ideal for short bed trucks pulling gooseneck trailers.
Now it is a heavy duty application. As you can see, it's pretty thick here on all the metal. Everything's been nice welded. It's gonna give you the strongest possible rating of 30,000 pounds and 6,000 pounds of tongue weight on the tongue itself. Now these are built for heavy duty gooseneck hauling.
Everything here as far as the shift lock coupler itself by Shocker, is a patent take, game changing design. It's dual latching, so there's like a U-bolt here in the front, if you will, and that's gonna go around and latch both sides with a simple pool of the pin and everything. So let me pop this off here real quick. So again, whenever it's down like this and you can put the hole through, you can see right here. Now you know that it's locked in place.
And then you can put that pin in to just make sure that it's not moving after it's in that position. So very nice design, nice matte black powder coat finish. It's impact resistant. It's not gonna corrode or rust on you anytime soon. Now again, this tube here is a four inch or 100 millimeter square stem, and you have four holes of adjustments on the stem here.
So those are 2 3/4 inches apart. Center on center all the way up here. Again, four options there for adjustments so you can change the height as needed. So just a great design. One thing to note, obviously there is no outer gooseneck tube. That should already be on your trailer obviously.
