Video Transcript for Taylor Made Marine Gas Strut for Boat Hatches-3691830 Feature Review

Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a look at the gas strut. This is going to be a 17-inch long, 20 pound compression force gas strut. So this is a replacement for one that's maybe damaged or broken, or it's just worn down and it's not lifting like it should. You can use these in a lot of different applications, on your boat, on your RV, really anywhere that you have a compartment door that you want to stay open while you load things in or out, or do any kind of maintenance and things like that. So we can take a little closer look at the gas strut itself.

On either end, you can see we'll have the ball-and-socket attachments. These are both going to be 10 millimeter ball-socket attachment points. Our length is derived from the distance between those two points center to center, so you can see there we've got 17 inches between the two. Again, it does have a compression force rating of 20 pounds. It just comes as one single strut. It is a heat-treated steel construction, so it's going to be nice and durable.

And it also has a coating to protect it from any kind of rust so it won't corrode on you even in saltwater applications, which is also important for being on the road, because a lot of times we're going to encounter road salt as well. So it's always a good idea to have it be coated to protect it. That's pretty much all there is to it for this guy. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right one for you. Again, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com.

If you need any different size or weight rating, we do have others available, so check them out. Thanks for watching.
