Today we're gonna take a look at the Taylor Made made 17" Long Steel Gas Shock. Now, this gas shock is designed to replace a worn out or damaged shock on your dock, tox or boat hatch. It's a coded annealed steel construction which provides corrosion resistance so it is perfect for high saltwater areas. Does easily install in minutes, no special tools are required. And when you do install this, you'll always want to make sure that the rod portion faces down, and it is recommended to replace these gas shocks in pairs. A connection type on this shock, it's a removable 10 millimeter ball socket with the retaining clip.
I want to zoom in just to show you the detail on how this installs. But if you look at the end on each end, they'll have a ball socket right here. And then on top is the retaining clip.So if you have a flat tip screwdriver, you can stick it right under that retaining clip, pry it up. Now to release the pressure that'll snap onto your 10 millimeter ball. And then once it's on the ball, push that clip back down to secure it into place.
Very simple installation. Length on this shock . And the length is always measured from this ball socket to the center of this ball socket. So if we take our tape measure, and we go center to center. There's your 17" length, and the output force on this shock is 40 pounds.
But that should do it for the review on the Tailor Made 17" Long Steel Gas Shock.
