Video Transcript for What to Know About the Taylor Made Marine Gas Strut for Boat Hatches

Today, we're going to take a look at the Taylor-Made 15-inch long Stainless Steel Gas Shock. Now this gas shock is designed to replace one worn out or damaged shock on your boat hatch. It's a stainless steel construction, provides maximum corrosion resistance. So it is perfect for high salt water areas and it installs easily in minutes. There's no special tools required. You do want to always install this with this rod portion facing down.

And it is recommended to always replace these gas shocks in pairs. The specs on this, the connection type. It's a removable 10 millimeter ball socket design. And just to show you how that installs, let me sort of zoom in here. So you can get a view at the detail of this. But there's what attaches to the ball socket.

And the way you open this, is you pull up on this cap at the top here, and you pull it up enough to where it releases the pressure on those four clamps on the ball socket. Stick that onto the ball socket, and then push that down and it'll put pressure on there and hold it to the ball socket. So very simple installation. Again, no tools required to install it.Length of this again is 15 inches and that's measured from center to center. So if we put a tape measure on that, center to ball socket, to that center is 15 inches.

And the output force on this is 60 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the Taylor-Made 15-inch long Stainless Steel Gas Shock.
