Video Transcript for Ultimate Overview of the Taylor Made Marine Gas Strut for Boat Hatches-3691871-100

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Taylor Made marine gas strut for your boat hatches. This is going to replace a worn out or damaged strut on your boat's hatch so that it will easily extend and lift your hatch lid. So it's going to make it easier for you to open up, or it will compress gently to help make sure that your hatch will close without slamming, in case of a big gust of wind or something like that. It will help to make sure it doesn't slam and cause any damage or injuries. This is a ball and socket installation.

So you can see we've got these sockets on both ends. These will attach to the ball studs on your boat's hatch. These are 13 millimeter ball sockets, so they will work with your 13 millimeter ball stud. This is overall right about 36 inches from the center of one socket to the center of the other socket when it's fully extended like this. This does have a compression force of 100 pounds, so it's going to give you plenty of strength to make sure that it's not slamming shut on you.It does have a heat treated steel construction.

So it's going to be very, very durable. It also has a corrosion resistant coating. So it's not going to rust even in your salt water areas, it will hold up well and do a good job for you for a long time to come. This is just going to come with the one strut. So overall, if you're needing a new gas strut for your boat, I think this is going to be a great option for you.

I think you'll be very happy with it. That's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
