When your fifth wheel's unhitched, your truck still has work to do. This cushioned 5th wheel to gooseneck pin box cuts down on chucking and frees up your bed when the trailer's parked so you can haul what you need, when you want.
When you're not towing your fifth wheel, you still need your truck bed open for everyday use. With this direct replacement pin box, you can hitch your trailer to a gooseneck ball and clear out the bulky fifth-wheel hitch that eats up space. Load your tools, haul lumber, or stow your weekend gear without worrying about having enough bed space. It's designed to keep your fifth wheels ride height and weight balance just right, and it installs with the included hardware. At about 175 lbs, it's a two-person lift, so grab a buddy or a hoist to make the job easier.
If you've had it with an air-bag pin box that seems to lose pressure or need topping off, this gooseneck pin box gives you the same comfort without the upkeep. The GooseTech cushioned pin box uses a heavy-duty rubber shear spring to absorb vertical and fore-and-aft movement, softening the jolt from bumps, dips, and bridge seams. You'll feel less chucking up front and experience a more relaxed ride on long hauls.
Although this pin box can tow up to 24,000 lbs, the internal rubber shear spring is optimized for trailers that range from 0 to 11,500 lbs. A rubber spring built for 24,000 lbs trailers would be too stiff to provide any cushion for an 11,500 lb trailer, while a rubber spring built for 11,500 trailers would be too flexible for a 24,000 lbs trailer. To get the best results from this cushioned pin box, the sweet spot is a trailer in the 0 to 11,500 lbs range.
With GooseTech, hooking up happens fast. As you lower your trailer onto the gooseneck ball, the spring-loaded coupler clicks into place and locks down tight, so you don't have to latch it by hand or wonder if it's secure. Once you're connected, climb in to attach your safety chains (sold separately) for that extra peace of mind before you head out. When it's time to unhook, reach into your truck bed with the included remote handle to pull the release handle. And when you're parked for the night, use the built-in lock hole to secure your trailer and sleep easy.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a look at this MORryde GooseTech 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Pin Box. Now, when you're not towing your 5th-wheel, you're still going to need your truck bed open for everyday use. So, with this direct replacement pin box, you're gonna be able to hitch your trailer to a 2 5/16-inch gooseneck ball and you're gonna be able to clear out that bulky 5th-wheel hitch that's taking up so much space in the bed of your truck. So, you're gonna be able to load your items such as your tools, your lumber, and you're gonna be able to tuck away your weekend gear without worrying about having enough bed space. So, this is designed for your Lippert 1621 Fifth-Wheel Pin Box.
And this has a gross towing weight under 11,500 pounds. And this is constructed of powder-coated steel, so this is going to be very durable and robust for you. And this is designed to keep your 5th-wheel's ride height and weight balance just right. And this is going to install with the hardware that you see right here, and so, you're not gonna have to worry about dealing with any extra parts. And this weighs right at about 175 pounds, so I'm telling you that because this is heavy, whereas the installation is going to be pretty simple, you do wanna make sure that you have enough support when you take your old pin box down, and especially when you lift this new one in place, so make sure you have the support that you need to get this mounted into place with the included hardware.
Now, if you're kind of done with like an airbag pin box, maybe it seems to lose pressure all the time and it constantly needs topping off, this gooseneck pin box is going to be a remedy for that. This is going to give you the same comfort without the upkeep. And this GooseTech Pin Box, it's a cushioned pin box, so it uses a heavy-duty rubber shear spring inside to absorb that vertical and fore-and-aft movement. And what that's going to do for you is, it's going to soften the jolt that you get from bumps, dips, and even when you're driving over the bridge and you hit those bridge seams. So, you're gonna feel less chucking up front, and you're gonna get a more relaxed ride on those long hauls.
Now, I wanna give you a slightly different lower view, a slightly different angle view here and talk briefly about the coupler. So, as you lower your trailer onto the gooseneck ball, this spring-loaded coupler is going to click into place and lock down tight. You're not going to have to latch it by hand. You're gonna know it is secure. And this is actually a Demco EZ Latch, so you're not going to have to open this up or anything.
This is just going to drop right onto that 2 5/16-inch ball, and it will automatically click into place, and then when you're ready to uncouple, you're just gonna have to pull that lever back and that's going to stay open just like that. Now, included here, is this remote release handle. I wanna go back out wide-view here, and you can see that right here. And I'm gonna come around here and just to give you a demonstration of how you can use this. So, when you're ready to uncouple, you don't actually have to climb back into your bed. You can just use this, and then use this to pull the latch open just like that, and so that's how convenient this is going to be. So, that remote latch handle, release handle is included. And then when you're parked for the night, you can use the built-in lock hole right here, and then you're gonna be able to lock this down and secure your trailer, and not have to worry about someone attempting to try to steal this, or steal your setup from you. Now, if you're not sure which pin box you have, there are a couple ways in which you can figure it out. I would recommend taking a look at this product page, a little bit lower, we do have a link to an article that we have put together for you entitled Four Steps to Choosing Your 5th-Wheel Pin Box. So, if you need help finding out exactly what you have, take a look at that article and it will direct you in the right direction, or guide you in the right direction, I should say, or you can give us a call and we can help you out with that as well. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
After years of trying different hitch setups, the MoRyde GooseTech has become my favorite towing system yet. We’ve towed over 1,200 miles with it, and it’s been smooth, quiet, and completely maintenance-free , no airbags to refill, no grease fittings to mess with, and a super simple hookup process. Plus, when I unhook, I get my entire truck bed back. It feels like MorRyde took everything I loved about their rubber pin box and made it even better. I couldn’t be happier with how it tows.
