Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Fit perfectly. Installation was straightforward. No issues. Etrailer is awesome! Very satisfied.
This front-mount hitch works great for putting travel trailer into tight RV Garage (West Coast Metal Building). I don't have a straight shot into the garage, and trying to back the trailer into the garage is do-able but takes many, many tries. This hitch makes it easy to maneuver the trailer while facing forward in the truck.
Since the front hitch receiver is relatively low to the ground, I needed to get a high-rise ball mount. The riser part of this interferes a little but with the truck's under-bumper flexible fascia, but does not damage it.
I also purchased a 2" black rubber hitch receiver cover (plug) to keep water out of the receiver.
One thing - be careful when pulling up to parking lot curbs. Ground clearance of this hitch is relatively low and I have hit a couple of curbs with it. Thankfully the hitch itself and the mounting points on my Ram 1500 are very strong, and no damage was done other than mangling the rubber hitch receiver cover a bit.
Note: I built a wood frame to support the hitch during installation, since I did not have a helper to hold it while installing the attachment bolts.
This front hitch receiver for my 2016 RAM 1500 works great! The installers did not have to cut the facia under the nose of the truck. The hitch fits tight against the facia, but no cutting needed. They did have to drill some holes, but I used professional installers, so I'm not worried. This finally solves my problem of not having anywhere to mount my two bikes while towing my 23' camper. The options for camper bike racks don't work for us for several reasons. Glad I can take my bikes with me on my Saris rack. I purchased an adapter and pin to allow my 1 1/4" bike rack to fit in the 2" receiver. I also purchased the hitch receiver cover separately.
The hitch was fairly inexpensive (made in Mexico) and fitment was right. The biggest challenge was grinding the holes for the spacer blocks to slide into the frame. Two hex bolts and two carriage bolts with nuts mount it to frame. Sits pretty low to the ground; thus the skid shield. Should make it easier to move trailers and also act as a mounting point for a winch.
Receiver hitch was pretty easy going. Did not even need instructions. Do suggest drilling .5 hole a little bigger so bolt with wire on it slides through hole easier. I used a floor jack to hold it up just because I installed it by myself. It took about 1.5 hours start to finish. That's is getting tools out and installing hitch and putting tools away and cleaning up. Alignment was great. I highly recommend this product.
Installation was easy and pretty quick. My only complaint, which has nothing to do with the quality of the hitch. Is that I use it to mount my 12000 winch to the front. Reduces the attack angle greatly.
Besides making the holes a little bit bigger so the metal spacers fit,
This job was a breeze.
I did it by myself in an hour and 40 minutes.
Product is awesome and made 100%.
Shipping was extremely fast.
Will be ordering one for my Chevy Silverado.
Highly recommend.
Went up nice and easy! Looks fantastic! BAM!
I'm ready to use my DR Redi plow
I purchased the front mount hitch for my 2018 Ram 1500. It is now fully installed and working great. Its a 2 man job for a while during the mounting and drilling process. The directions were good. I watched some you tube videos of the process to help me better visualize all that needed to be done. I specifically want to give a shout out to the staff at etrailer for the ordering process and the follow up they had with shipping and some follow up questions I had. I talked to at least 3 different people by either phone or email and all were very helpful and knowledgeable on the products I purchased. I will purchase from etrailer again as they have exceptional service.
I installed this myself on the front of my 2018 Ram 1500 for a light duty snowplow.
It required drilling a couple of holes in the frame of the truck which was clearly disclosed in the product install information available to me prior to making the purchase decision, so that was fine. It was also made clear that I would probably need to remove my factory tow hooks, and that was indeed the case. Not a problem for me, as the hitch is a lot more useful to me than the hooks were.
I used the hitch all winter plowing several residences and had zero issues or concerns. A good value, easy enough to install, and I'm glad I bought it.

Great!
I received the package today and the cardboard container was torn apart. The staples were not holding anything together and it was taped shut like someone was looking through the container. I'll say one thing though, the receiver hitch was not damaged in the slightest. Good thing it was steel. lol I would recommend this product to anyone I know. I would not recommend sending this by UPS again. Good thing all the bolts were packaged tight against the receiver with tape. Did not attach it yet but I will in the near future. Excellent product. The price was right also.

Everything worked as it should. Thank you
Hitch fit my 2012 Ram 1500 Sport perfectly. I was not a fan of having to cut-out a bigger hole in the frame to pass the carrier bolt plates through. I tapped a hole and bolted it from underneath. Overall, recommend this hitch, but if you have the ability to tap a hole in the frame, it is a much easier option.

Working out great. I have used it for several beach trips as it holds my front fishing rodcooler basket. Great product.
I do believe that Drawtite has dropped the ball on this one. I have a 2018 Ram 4x4 EcoDiesel which “had” factory tow hooks. This hitch is well made but I wanted to retain my tow hooks. This is my second Drawtite hitch, the other a class V hitch for wife’s 2020 Ram 4x4 Warlock. Again hitch well built but holes for four bolts did not line up. Seemed like part of hitch was pulled in. Both sets of instructions were in a word “lacking” in detail.

Thank you for your review! Sometimes a hitch can become flexed in shipping. I have attached a link to our help article that has a few ways to straighten out a flexed hitch, as this is a common occurrence.

George,
The hitch performed very well. Once I got it on & the blade on I started doing what everyone said I couldn't, clearing the snow away from a plant for employees & truck traffic. I had to add 2 plates on my Nissan for strength than hit the road blowing-going.
Thank you,
Bill W
This hitch is an extremely useful item. It installed easily and is very heavy duty. It makes moving trailers around much easier and I use it for my snowplow too.
Great item. Great service.
Thanks.

This setup works great and is super strong. I will be using all winter with my hitch mounted plow again this year. It was worth every penny and more!
The hitch is built well. If you do not have the factory tow hooks than it is a perfect fit. If you do have the factory tow hooks then modification to the tow hooks or major modification to the hitch is required. The hitch comes out just under the bumper so the plastic air dam has to be cut for the hitch to protrude. The truck sits very low in the front but I do not find I hit or drag the hitch as much as I thought I would. Driving through fields it collects grass and dirt but has not hung up on anything. I have no problems driving haul roads. I mounted it so I could use a portable winch and this works fine but is to low to leave the winch in the receiver when moving. I have a 2014 ram 1500 4X4.
Last year, I purchased a Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver from e-trailer.
The receiver was fairly easy to mount with the average shop tools. A 1/2" drill and I believe about a 1/2" bit was necessary for some frame hole modification. Other than that, the mounting only needed standard tools. One minor problem, seems I had older instructions and they said to notch a slot in the lower plastic bumper guard and the instructed notch did not need to be that big. You have to remove your tow hooks to mount this hitch.
As for use after mounting. My driveway is long and narrow. It comes off a street that is also narrow. Without the front receiver, it is a Pain in the A$$ to back in the driveway. With the hitch, Piece of Cake. I trailer a 30' boat behind my pickup about 5,000 miles a year. I'm good at it and took pride in getting the boat in tight spots. This front receiver made trailer maneuvering so much easier since everything is right in front of you and the pivot is at the front wheels thus you can make tighter turns.
If you have a truck and don't mind the front receiver cut into your plastic flange along with the loss of tow hooks. The receiver is a great addition. Besides boat maneuvering, I can hang cooler, bike or fishing rod holders in the receiver.
If I had the opportunity to do it over again, I would definitely use this mount.
The build quality, install instructions and paint on this front hitch receiver is very good. But I have to leave it off my stock height 4WD ram 1500 because it grounds too easily on curbs and gutter dips/driveways around town. Probably be OK if I had added a more few inches of suspension height. I bought it to accommodate a removable winch, but if it drags around town it's too low for off pavement...
I am not considered to be "Mr. DIY," but this turned out to be easier than I thought. The biggest challenge was finding a friend who had a drill big enough to accommodate a 1/2" bit. I followed someone else's advice and loosely hung the receiver by the front two bolts to cut out the trim around the neck of the receiver. I used an oscillating tool vs a rotating tool to cut the notches to get the spacer blocks to fit through the holes. I plan on taking my travel trailer to AK, so wanted the additional flexibility a front receiver can offer for a bike rack, storage rack or winch.
i got this front draw tite made hitch a year ago it was easy to put on.great product, well made.shipped to me in few days.i will buy from them again.

its been a year with your draw tite hitch, still no problems as i use it to plow.
This front receiver hitch works great on my 2015 Ram 1500 4x4. It was easy to install without any need to modify anything on my truck. This hitch makes getting my boat out of my garage & backing it up my driveway much easier than before. Great product & great customer service. I will buy again from etrailer. I picked mine up at their St. Louis location when I figured out they were close to my home.
As to e-trailer, the service was great.
As to the product, one issue. It claimed to work with factory tow hooks. Well, on a 2014 Ram 1500, it doesn't. The receiver front mounting flanges interfere with the cast tow hooks when trying to install per the instructions. If this was your reason for choosing this product, as it was for me, don't. I'm now left with either having the front receiver hitch OR the factory tow hooks, but NOT both.
The factory OEM tow hooks on my 2020 Ram Classic 1500 aren't compatible with this hitch.

Yes, on this vehicle there are variations in which you will need to remove the tow hooks permanently. It sounds like your truck was one of those.
This hitch works great after a modification of the front end of my truck (A Dodge RAM 1500 Quad Cab) In order to get a good clearance for going over a curb at the end of my driveway I needed to have a leveler kit added to the front suspension to bring the front end up 2 inches.
Hitch was delivered on time. Directions could use some improvement but by taking your time, you can figure it out. The bolt leader application had me a little concerned. My fear was I'd attached the bolt to the leader, put it in the frame and the bolt would fall out of the leader before it found the hole; however, I was pleasantly surprised that this gizmo works great for this application. Anyway, overall a good experience. Hitch is one year old and works fine.

The front hitch has worked perfectly while using the snow plow. It is also very conveniently tucked under the truck when not in use.
