I ordered a hitch and a transmission cooler and got everything within a few days. Putting the hitch on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee was pretty straight forward after watching the helpful videos by etrailer. If you install a hitch yourself on the 2000 Jeep Cherokee do yourself a favor and by the 12 x 1.75 tap and clean out the already existing bolts on the passenger side.

Installing the transmission cooler was also fairly straightforward, although I did have some trouble installing the 13028 Derale Dodge/Jeep Radiator Adapters into the existing transmission return lines.

  • Special Radiator Fittings to Install a Transmission Cooler on a 2005 Jeep Wrangler 4.0
If I understand correctly, the line from the transmission to the radiator goes through a cavity in the radiator where there is coolant before the end of the line reaches the actual transmission cooler inside the radiator. Is that correct? Otherwise the coolant and transmission fluid would be mixing together and that would be very bad. It sounds like the steel line needs to stay in the radiator and you would cut the hose and use fittings # D13028 instead of fitting something directly in...

  • Derale Transmission Cooler Adapter for Install on 2005 Jeep Wrangler
The Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Dodge and Jeep # D13028 is the correct adapter to use on the radiator of your 2005 Jeep Wrangler when installing a transmission cooler. This is the adapter you'd use to connect from the return line of the factory transmission cooler to the aftermarket cooler you have now.

  • Transmission Cooler Hose Fittings for a 1988 Jeep Cherokee with 4.0L and Automatic Transmission
There is a difference between the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings, # D13028, and 1987-Current Jeep OEM Custom Transmission Cooler Fitting Kit, # HH41413(now discontinued). Basically, the first ones are aftermarket fittings that do not follow the same design as the original factory fittings. On the other hand, Hidden Hitch part does follow the design of the factory fittings. If you look closely, you will notice that the 5/8 diameter described by the Hidden Hitch part, # HH41413(Now discontinued),...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 5.2L Engine
Generally the largest cooler that will fit in a vehicle will give the best cooling performance. For your 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 5.2L engine the Derale Cooler # D13503 is a great choice in an efficient Class III cooler. The kit includes everything you need, unless your transmission uses rubber lines, in which case you'll also need Adapter Fitting Kit # D13028. An install video and the written instructions are linked to show you the essentials of the process. You can also refer to...

  • Derale Hyper-Cool Transmission Cooler D13960 Fittings For 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee With 4.0 Engine
There are different that fittings you will need for your 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4.0L engine than the ones you mentioned in order to install the Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13960. Your '02 Grand Cherokee should have a 3/8" rubber hose (though I do recommend verifying this), so what you will need instead is the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Dodge and Jeep # D13028.

  • Isa Special Fitting Needed to Install a Transmission Cooler in a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.7
There isn't a required fitting to install a transmission cooler in a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 3.7 liter motor. Transmission coolers such as # D13503 come with an Insta-dapt fitting which fits most Jeep Grand Cherokees with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation. If you do have 3/8 inch inner diameter lines then you could use # D13028.

  • Transmission Cooler for a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 5.2 Liter Motor
Yes, since transmission coolers are not vehicle specific, cooler # D13503 will fit your 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.2 liter motor. You will also want fitting # D13028 to avoid having to cut and flare lines. I have included a link to the right showing installation on a similar vehicle.

  • Will Aftermarket Derale Transmission Cooler Bypass OEM Cooler on a 1998 Dodge Dakota
A supplemental transmission cooler like the Derale # D13614 is designed to work in addition to the OEM cooler on your 1998 Dodge Dakota. So no, it won't be rid of your current transmission cooler. The adapter kit # D13028 is exactly what you need to perform this installation. Just make sure that you have enough room in your engine compartment for this cooler (see attached photo).

  • Transmission Cooler for 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The Derale # D12906 is a universal-fit aftermarket part that will fit your 2007 Grand Cherokee if the space behind the grille and in front of the A/C condenser and radiator can accommodate its 13 by 7-3/4 inch dimensions. If the available space is to small to allow installation of the D12906, we have smaller plate-fin style coolers like part # D13502 that are actually more efficient at cooling your transmission fluid. This cooler would typically be installed so it would be last in line...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for a 2010 Jeep Wrangler 3.6L V6
According to my research the 3.6L V6 engine in your 2010 Jeep Wrangler is 231 cubic inches. However, the engine size is not relevant when choosing the correct size transmission cooler for your vehicle. The best transmission cooler to use would be the largest one you have space available for in front of your radiator behind your grill. As long as you have 11" wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep of space in front of your radiator, I recommend using the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission...

However if you have have 3/8" inner diameter lines, then you could use the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Dodge and Jeep # D13028 instead.

  • Transmission Cooler for 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Transmission coolers like the Derale # D13504 are not actually vehicle-specific; the largest size cooler that you can fit and properly install can be used but adapter fittings may be required. Derale cooler # D13504 is an efficient Class IV type transmission cooler that measures 11-inches wide x 12-inches tall x 7/8-inch deep. As long as you have space to mount the cooler you're ok to install it. Use adapter # D13028 if your transmission hose has an inner diameter of 3/8-inches. You can...

  • Will the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler # D15902 Fit a 2000 Jeep Cherokee
Since transmission and engine oil coolers are more of a universal fit you will just need to take the dimensions of the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler # D15902 and see if you have enough space under the hood of your 2000 Jeep Cherokee for fitment. There isn't really a known temperature to expect from it since that is all relative to where you live, drive, how much weight your vehicle carries, etc... The cooler measures 17" wide x 12-1/2" tall x 3/4" deep so you will...

  • Adapter Recommendation for Installing Derale Transmission Fluid Filter 13090 on 2003 Jeep Wrangler
For your 2003 Jeep Wrangler you would need to use the Insta-Adapt # D13028 and # HH41413 when installing the Derale Remote transmission cooler # D13090 that you referenced. You would not want to clamp the lines to the filter as that would not work.

  • Recommended Cooler For A 1999 Jeep Cherokee
We currently sell two types of coolers for your 1999 Jeep Cherokee. You can either purchase an engine oil or transmission cooler for your Jeep. I recommend you choose the largest cooler you have space for. Generally speaking, the best place to install an aftermarket cooler is in front of the radiator/condenser behind the grill. This cooler will install in front of the vehicles radiator and air conditioning condenser and is 11 inches Wide x 7-1/4 inches tall x 7/8 inches deep. • Should a Derale Transmission Cooler Bypass the Factory Cooler on a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The transmission coolers that we carry like # D13504 are designed to be used as supplemental coolers to work in conjunction with the factory cooler. Depending on the vehicle, and where the transmission cooler, # D13503, is going to be installed, it could take around an hour or longer. There really is not set amount of time because every vehicle is different and different size engines have more or less space and use different fittings. For a 2003 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.7 liter, use Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings, # D13018. For a 4.0 liter, use kit # D13028 for 3/8 inch x 3/8 inch hose splicers, or kit # HH41413. • Can a 1997 Jeep TJ Handle 2,500 Pounds Gross Trailer Weight to Tow ATVs and Gear
You will want to check the owners manual of the 1997 Jeep TJ for the official towing capacities but I am fairly certain it can handle 2,500 pounds of gross trailer weight. What you will want to add is a transmission cooler since you will be towing in the mountains. The extra weight of the trailer and items in it combined with the hilly mountainous terrain will put a lot of stress on the transmission. Adding a cooler will lower the temperature of the fluid and increase the life of the transmission. I...

First let's start with a hitch for your 1999 Jeep Cherokee. For that I would recommend the Curt Hitch part # 13084. Check out the install video I attached as well. For trailer wiring you would want the part # 13084. I attached an install video for this product as well. We typically recommend the use of weight distribution when the trailer weighs more than 50 percent of the tow vehicle. The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight...
