So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

Will make the installation of the trans cooler easier

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

  • Best Solution for Lowering Vehicle Temperatures When Towing
The added stress from trailer towing usually shows up as an increased transmission temperature. I am not sure if the gauge you're referring to is displaying engine coolant temperature or if you have one that shows transmission temperature. We do offer Derale Class III transmission cooler # D12903 for your 5.3L Yukon XL which measures a generous 15-1/4 x 7-1/2. This can be mounted in front of your AC condenser to provide supplemental transmission cooling after the OEM cooler in the radiator...

  • Are Special Fittings Required to Install a Transmission Cooler on a 1996 GMC Yukon 5.7L 4x4
It looks like for a 1996 GMC Yukon with 4-wheel drive and the 5.7 liter motor you will need fittings # D13018 to install the transmission cooler without having to cut and flare any lines. I have linked a video showing installation of a cooler you can use as a guide.

  • Can Derale Dyno-Cool Remote Cooler Mount in Front of Radiator in 2010 Chevy Silverado
As stated by Derale in the instructions of the Derale Dyno-Cool Remote Cooler with Fan and AN Inlets # D12733, "The purpose of a remote mount cooler is to be able to mount the cooler away from the front of the vehicle therefore not blocking airflow to the radiator/condenser. This cooler can be mounted anywhere space permits." If you are going to be adding a transmission cooler in front of your radiator I instead recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13503,...

  • How Many Adapters Is Needed to Install Transmission Cooler in 1997 Chevy K1500
The Derale cooler part # D13503 is a great choice for your 1997 Chevy K1500. You would only need one of the part # D13018 fitting adapter as it comes with two sides. One to use on the radiator to get the line to the transmission cooler and then the other one to attach back to the disconnected transmission cooler line that was removed. If oil filter clearance is already pretty tight I wouldn't recommend an oil cooler as they take up a bit of space that it sounds like you don't have. Is...

  • 1999 Chevy C3500 Transmission Will Not Shift Into Overdrive While Towing
Overdrive is not usually something that you would need to use when towing. Also if your truck has a tow/haul button that you press when towing then it likely shuts off overdrive. If this is something new the truck started doing then there are some things to look at. The first thing I recommend doing is checking the transmission fluid level for your 1999 Chevy C3500. If the fluid is low then it might not have enough cooling power. If the fluid is full and looks good then the cooler you...

  • How Does Derale Radiator Fitting for Transmission Coolers Install on a 2002 Chevy S10 2.2 Liter
The Derale transmission cooler fitting # D13018 is listed as a fit for your 2002 Chevy S10 2.2 liter. The fittings thread onto steel transmission lines and in the radiator so you will not have to flare the lines. I included a picture that illustrates this.

  • What Transmission Cooler Fitting Will Fit On 2002 Ford F150 With 4.2 Liter V6
The transmission cooler fittings you have referenced, # D13018, are not the correct part for your 2002 Ford F150 with 4.2L V6. For the 2002 Ford F150 with 4.2 L V6, it depends on what size transmission line fittings you have. If you have 5/8 inches-18 transmission line fittings you would use the Transmission Cooler Fitting, # D13025. If you have the 1/2 inches-20 transmission line fittings you would use Transmission Cooler Fitting, # D13024.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2011 Chevy Silverado
You are a little on the warm side for your transmission fluid. If you can keep it under 200 degrees you will have the max life out of it. That being said transmissions really start to go downhill at 260 degrees. The Derale cooler part # D13503 with the install fitting part # D13018 is the most popular option for your 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 and would work well. I attached an install video that shows the cooler installed in a similar GM vehicle.

I spoke with my contact at the manufacturer and he said that there are 3 main types of fittings that GM used during that year and that it was more or less random for the GM trucks so you may need any one of the three types. The three types are the fittings that were used are the fitting supplied with the cooler, a snap in style fitting, item # D13035, and the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM, item # D13018. The item you selected, Derale Transmission Cooler # D13504, is a fit for your 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe but you would need to find a mounting location. With such a large cooler you may have to find a different location other then behind the front grille. Mounting the transmission cooler behind the grille, in front of the AC core is the most ideal and efficient cooling location to mount it,. The other locations would be between condenser and radiator, and between the radiator and engine. Since...

  • Weight Distribution System for 8000 lb Boat/Trailer w/ Surge Coupler Towed by 2004 Chevy Avalanche
As a starting point, I would recommend finding the exact as-towed weight and tongue weight of the boat and trailer. This is an important consideration in choosing a weight distribution system, as well as determining if you are exceeding the towing capacity of the Avalanche. You can pull the 12,000 lb capacity trailer at a maximum load of 10,000 lbs. There are hitches that are available as you stated that rated higher than your vehicle capacity. Unfortunately that only means that the trailer hitch receiver can handle that weight, not that your vehicle's transmission, engine, and suspension can handle that weight....
