Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Erickson horizontal E-track track system. This is available in many different lengths to fit a wide variety of applications. Here you can see our E-track in action. As we're driving around, you can see all of our items are staying in place very, very well. You're not going to have to worry about shifting, things going from one side to the other and causing issues or making a mess when you get to your final destination. Now the E-track system is easily the most popular cargo control system that we have available. Essentially you can mount this just about anywhere. We're in an enclosed trailer today.
We've got two rows of it mounted here on the side of the trailer. Two on the bottom, two on the other side. This is going to give this customer hundreds of attachment points for just about any type of accessory, straps, different hooks and stuff that'll work out great. You can see even here on the front of the Ranger, right around the tires, they've got chocks. So you know you're getting your Ranger in the right spot every time or any other vehicle for that matter. And not only is this going to work out well for enclosed trailers like this.
But we see people that mount these on the wall in their garage, on open utility trailers. Maybe in the bed of your truck, if you haul a little four wheeler around or something like that. So it can really give you a very good way to get everything nice and secure and not be limited on the attachment points you have and have to kind of finagle things to get it strapped in properly. In this case, you'll be able to have an attachment point exactly where you need it all the time. Here's one example, you can see there's just a nice clip in ring that's available. This can click in any slot on the E-track and those are going to be on two inch centers from one to the other.
You can see that's going to come out. We can move it anywhere along the line we want. So if we're trying to pack a larger item, we can spread it out wider. A narrower item, we can bring them in closer together. You'll see how that's going to work.
You just push down on that tab, the sides going to go in first. Rotate the bottom in and just allow it to come down, that's going to click back in, gives us a good secure attachment point that then we can get all of our gear kind of secured with. Here you can see another good example. We've got our E-chock in right here. That clips again right into the E-track. Then we're able to bring one of the E-track specific straps around. Get that connected right around all four tires. This thing is not going to go anywhere. It's extremely secure and extremely stable. Now if you already have a bunch of straps with hooks on the end, it's not really a big deal. They've got an accessory that's going to work out great for that as well. Here you can see the D hook style strap. And again just very quick and easy to get that connected or removed. It can be slid anywhere along the track that you want. And you can use your already existing straps to hold everything in place. Here's another good example of one of our E-track's straps in use. You can see we've got it connected to the wall there around our tool box. Whether you're using it as a work type situation or playing on the weekends, you'll need tools if you break something. You can see that box is super secure. It's not going anywhere. Not going to have to worry about your box turning over or your tools being misplaced when you get where you're going. We also have a lot of tool holders, whether that's a horizontal type like what we have here. You can see use two of those, you'll be able to stack tubing, boards, whatever you might want kept up to the side or the vertical type like we've got here. You can see these come in various sizes. There's just a growing number of accessories available for this E-track to make your cargo control a very easy and manageable situation. We're also going to have almost like a Joyce hanger available. This makes an ideal solution for building shelves or beds inside of your enclosed trailer. To either give you a lot more storage options or give you someplace to sleep once your get your vehicle out there, get everything unloaded. You just turn this right into a camper. Now the E-track itself is completely zinc coated. So even if you are going to have it exposed to the elements, you're not going to have to worry about that rust and corrosion so much. And then like some of the other track systems available, you can see how many attachment points there are. Even on our enclosed trailer here where we have to hit studs specifically to get it attached. See generally they're going to line up and give you a good secure point. Now the hardware's not included to secure it and that's understandable. There are many different ways to secure this and a lot of different materials to secure it too. So you'll have to provide your own hardware to get that installed. Now something else I really like about the E-track is its got a little bit of a flex to it. So you can see here is our trailer steps back, it kind of dovetails down a little bit. So it's got a little bit of a slope, able to contour exactly to that, still give us good attachment points from the front to back of our trailer. Now to go over a few dimensions for our E-track. From the bottom to the top here, the total width is going to be about five and an eighth of an inch. And then from the surface you mount it to, to the top of the track is going to be about 7/16 of an inch. Now where the track ends, you do have little caps or little wedges that are made to fit in place there. So you don't just have a step up. It's going to give you something that'll actually roll up and over. Really prevents you from getting your foot hung on it or anything like that. Now when it comes time to mount the track, our mounting holes are a quarter inch in diameter. And they're going to be located every two inches. So as you can see, even on our trailer here it's had a few irregularities in the studs. We're able to get a bolt into each one of them and get our track nice and secure. Now it has a 6,000 pound break strength and a 2,000 pound safe working load limit. You want to stay in that 2,000 pound safe working load limit. You don't want to press that break strength. But one thing you really need to keep in mind is, if you only attach this, let's say you only get one of the five foot sections and you attach it with four screws. That's not really going to give you much strength. You want to get plenty of fasteners in there to help out and make sure we can get right up to that working load limit that we expect. Now Erickson offers their horizontal E-track in a lot of different lengths. They've got a four inch section, if you just need a small connection point in a few spots on your trailer. Then they also have a few different lengths in the feet. You get two feet, four feet, five feet, or eight feet sections. So you can really get exactly what you need for you application. Then another thing to keep in mind. This can be cut in a few situations in our trailer here. We have an eight foot section, we had to maybe cut it down to maybe seven or seven and a half. But using the cut off saw, kind of an abrasive wheel saw. It cuts pretty easily and you can really get it customized for your situation. Now let's take a second to compare the E-track with other track systems. Here we have the O-track, this is the wall mount style. Basically you'll have rings and a few other accessories available for this track. It's not as easy to use. So we're going to pull this in, put the circle in the circle. I'm going to slide it over about midway. We're going to see that it's going to click in. That kind of locks our ring in place. There are some accessories available for the O-track, not nearly as many as what you're going to find with the E-track.I also like the fact that the E-track, see how it mounts on two sides here. So if we are pulling downward a little bit, we've got security. With the O-track it's going to mount right in the middle at a single point. So that's going to give us less resistance to twisting as we secure our items. And while the shorter pieces like this will come with hardware, for the floor track, which we'll show you in just a minute. You need to find this particular type of screw with the pan head to it, to where it'll sit down and flush in. Whereas when we secure the E-track, we can do that with just about any type of hardware that we want that's a quarter inch. Here you can see on the O-track for the floor, it does have a taper on each side. That's going to make it smooth and for the wall or for the floor, we'll have the cap that goes on the end. So that's very similar in to the style that we have with the E-track. But something I noticed, take a look at your mounting holes here. We've got one here, one here, one here. So that gives your about a 12 inch space between each of them. Where again with the E-track, we've got tons of areas to secure it, many different holes that are available on two inch centers. So the E-track's going to be a much more secure system that what you're going to get with the O-track. Looking over our customer reviews with the O-track, they like it. It works out, but anytime you move into those heavier duty applications, you'll see the E-track really shines. Now while this isn't a track system, this is another tie down method that you're going to see very often in trailers. This is a fixed point tie down, so we can't move this thing around if we decide we want to go from one to two ATVs or something. We really don't have that option. There's a hole drilled in the floor and that allows it to sit down and in. That's supposed to give your a much more flush kind of a style. But with the head of the bolt sticking up here, at each of our mounting locations and the thickness of the flange. It's just about at the same level as what we get with the E-track.So when we look between the two systems that we have here, while we'll get a higher capacity in a lot of cases with this style. With our E-track, we get tons more versatility. Now as we've shown you, the E-track system can mount either on the side of the trailer or on the floor. We're going to show you here just a little bit of how the side would go in. Basically, we've measured from the top of the trailer down to the top of where we want our track to go. One thing you will notice, right here on the end there's going to be a little step up there. In that situation, see we've got just a little cap that goes over and smooths that out. That'll prevent your hand getting caught on it if you walk by or anything like that. So we're just going to kind of match that up with what we've done on the top. That gives us our location.Another thing to consider, this is a steel track, it is zinc coated and this is an aluminum trailer. If you're going to be putting steel on aluminum, good idea to use an isolator. This is going to allow us to get this in place. We won't have to worry about the corrosion that's often caused with dissimilar metals. So we get that put in place. Now the hardware you used to install it, that's going to be up to you. With us going into the aluminum, we're going to be using self tapping screws. If you're going into a wooden trailer or something like that, of course you'll probably want to use something a little bit different. So we'll get this corner started. We're going to go to our other end, going to make sure that it's level where we want it. Then we'll just work our way down putting our isolators in along the way. You'll notice here at the end of this section of the track, our hole isn't over our stud. What we're going to do is just drill a pilot hole. It'll allow our fastener to go through. Let's get our holes drilled top and bottom here. And again you want to make sure you're drilling a pilot hole that's appropriate for the fastener you're using. Now for our end cap, just going to place that on. It's designed to just match up perfectly the top and bottom there. Use our fasteners and get that in place. All right that pretty much kind of sums up your wall mount situation and how you'll get it mounted on the wall. So we're going to finish this one up. Then we'll turn our attention to the floor. Now you can see we've marked here on our floor where we want the center of our track to run. We've also marked where we want the end of our track to be. Mark the center of our track. And now we're just going to get that all kind of lined up there. Again, using steel on aluminum. We're going to use an insulator there or an isolator. All right, that looks good there. And then to keep it square, we'll just measure over to the side of the trailer and back out. We want to keep that consistent the full length of our track. Once we've confirmed that it's running square with our trailer, we'll just get it secured down. And with our track secured down, we'll just remove the excess isolator that we've got here. Then we can put our caps on. Now for capping off the end of our floor plate here, our floor track. Just want to use the same procedure we did for the walls. Place it in, get your screws started. Now as we're coming in or going out, we won't have to worry about kind of trip hazard. That's going to complete our look at the Erickson horizontal E-track system.

Bought four tires and wheels for not much more $ than tires only at local tire store. Got them 4 days after order. I would rather bolt them on myself than sit in a tire store. 746821

Nice product. Thicker than I expected. 652523
Tracks work good but the straps I got are terrible. They only pull up snug, you can’t ratchet them down tight. The straps work loose quite often and I have to reattach them. I would not buy them again. 649480
Great product ' uses a lot of screws 621835
I installed these in a 6x14 box trailer with 1/4" sheet metal screws into the metal framing (side panel). They are strong and provide a lot of flexibility. I use the horizontal tube and rectangular holders for fishing poles, pipes and other similar gear. Goes well with E59143 also and the various hooks like EM59142. I used 2 4' horizontals and 2 2' horizontals to provide good coverage on the door side of my trailer and am very pleased with the install. 617682
gonna fit my purpose perfect 613752
