Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located beneath the rear of the vehicle, along the driver's-side frame rail. Once you've plugged in the tow harness, connect the included jumper harness with relays to activate functions. This harness plugs into the 12-pin plug that is located behind the passenger's-side kick panel in your cab.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Today on our 2011 Nissan Frontier we'll be installing the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-pole flat connector, part number 118525. To begin our install we'll first need to go to the passenger side kick panel and remove the interior panel. To do this we'll need to remove the threshold first. To remove the threshold, we'll use a flat-blade screwdriver or interior trim panel tool to get underneath the threshold and pop the fasteners free. Next, we'll need to remove the kick panel. To remove the kick panel, we'll first remove the black cap nut. Then we'll release the fasteners underneath and set the kick panel aside.
Now we'll need to locate the manufacturer's 12-pin connector. This will be an open connection point. It is not plugged into anything else. We'll go ahead and cut the tape free and pull the connector out to where we can gain access to it. Then we'll take our new jumper and plug directly into the 12-pin port.
The other end of our jumper will be three relay connectors. Starting with the brown relay connector we can go ahead and install the brown relay. We'll match up the pins and firmly press the relay onto the connector locking it in place. Next we'll go ahead and repeat the same process with the two white connectors. These are identical relays and identical white connectors. Once we have them all plugged in, we're now going to go ahead and route the wiring harness and relays up behind the kick panel.
Note, when the relay makes direct contact with the sheet metal it can cause a vibration so we'll install the foam padding as necessary to prevent the vibration from happening. We'll go ahead a peel away the two-sided adhesive and install it behind the location where we can mount the relays. We'll go ahead and route the jumper and relays into position and reinstall the kick panel and threshold. Next we'll need to move to the rear of the vehicle on the driver's side frame rail. We'll locate the 4-pin port here with the weather cap connector. To remove the weather cap connector, we'll press in the locking tab and pry it out of the connection point.
Then we can take our new 4-pole harness plug directly into the manufacturer's connection point. For this application we'll also be using the Tow Ready 4-pole mounting bracket, part number 18144. With this bracket on this application using the self-tapping screws we can drill it directly into the bottom of the bumper. Now with our bracket mounted we'll go ahead and route the 4-pole over the hitch and to our bracket. Then we can secure our wiring and any excess wire to the back of the hitch using several zip ties. Now with the wiring secured we'll go ahead and cut off the excess from the zip ties to clean up our install look. With that, we've completed the install of our Tow Ready Custom Fit 4-Pole Wiring Harness, part number 118525 along with the Tow Ready 4-Pole Mounting Bracket, part number 18144 on our 2011 Nissan Frontier. .

I bought this hitch and wiring for a new 2019 Nissan Frontier.
I installed everything myself. The receiver would be easier to install with a second pair of hands but I managed by using a piece of rope to lift one side into place and kept it suspended so I could get the bolts started in the other side. Then started the bolts in the rope side and tighten them up and done. No need to remove the spare tire or anything else. Just lift it up and put the bolts in. Be sure to put a torque wrench on them because the recommend foot pounds is probably tighter than what you would guess just going by feel.
I was intimidated by the wiring, going under the kick panel and everything. It turned out to be super easy. I mean like 5 minutes and you are done. Total plug and play. Watch the videos and you can't go wrong. It couldn't get much easier than this unless you have someone else do it.
I totally bought from etrailer because of all the "How To Install" videos. I bought hitch #13514 and light kit #118525 both from etrailer. Install could be a one-person job, but I would recommend two-person. Installed hitch and light kit in about an hour with two-people. After install I added a self-adhesive Diamond designed rubber matt on the hitch step, this avoided any foot slips. I bought the rubber matt from Harbor Freight. I think etailer should make this an enhancement to the hitch. I also used velcro straps to keep wiring tucked away until needed, also purchased from Harbor Frieght. Both hitch and light kit are very well made, not cheaply made. I am very satisfied with the product.
Big thumbs up to etrailer for a great price and prompt delivery of the hitch and wiring harness kit for my new ‘22 Frontier. Also kudos for their excellent instructional installation video posted on the website. I did the install alone and it was done in less than an hour including testing (would’ve taken less time if the main relay connection behind the kick panel in my Frontier hadn’t been taped to a harness and hard to find).

Really nice to get a product that installs just as advertised... Took about 15 minutes to install hitch by myself using my floor jack to raise it into place, no strain what-so-ever, very simple install. Wiring connector was another simple install as well as the wiring behind the passenger kick panel. Everything went as advertised, no hiccup at all.
Love my hitch! Gets me and my gear where I wanna go! Dylan really helped me get the perfect equipment for my 2012 Xterra. I am not super car smart but etrailer always gives me expert assistance.
Installation was a snap. One of the easiest electrical jobs I've done. Online video was helpful as I took my ipad out to the garage and watched it step by step. Entire process was maybe an hour.

I have used this product a lot no problems at all
Everything was really easy. When the package arrived I just followed the instructions and snap, snap it was together. My boat trailer now has lights. Very happy I chose this product!
The difference between oem and your product is the price. The dealer wanted three times the price I paid from etrailer.com and the quality is great. My install took 30 minutes or so and works really well. The instructions were also very helpfull and clear.
The product and support at etrailer is just awesome. Plug and play and im on my way!
My eTrailer purchase experience has been fantastic! Quality products, low prices, fast shipping, and great instructional videos. The Curt Trailer Hitch (#13514) is definitely a high quality product; I installed it on my 2012 Nissan Xterra PRO-4X. The fit was definitely tight. Not only did I have to remove the rear exhaust hanger per the instructions, I had to remove the mid-hanger just behind the muffler and loosen the hanger just in front on the muffler to get the required clearance. After that it just needed some friendly persuasion; i.e. a hammer. The hitch fits well, looks great, and only took about an hour to install with my 15 year old son. The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with Relays (#118525) could not have been easier! I was only cautious of removing the passenger side floor sill and kick panel without a panel puller. Just took my time and didn't rush; panel puller really not required. Had the Xterra wired in 20 minutes. GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH eTrailer! They have gained a repeat customer!!!

Simple easy project
I had previously bought a rear wiring harness from another vendor and wondered why my running lights did not work. After seeing etrailer.com's video and information about my Xterra I realized I needed the front harness and relays. I ordered the kit here and it was a snap to install after watching their video. I am happy to say that now all of my trailer lighting works perfectly. Shipping was fast too. This is a great website with all of the information you need. Wiring and relays all still working flawlessly. We are getting ready to take our trailer on a road trip and I am confident that everything will be working as required.
Bought a used 2012 Nissan Frontier with a U-Haul trailer light converter kit. The truck lights and the trailer lights were totally screwed. Ordered the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness (118525) and saved the day. Took longer to repair the truck's wiring harness that U-Haul screwed up, than to install the T-One harness. Best part had it shipped the cheapest way, got the part in 1 1/2 days. GREAT JOB ETRAILER ps live in a large metropolitan area and could not find this part anywhere

Forget those cobbled together wiring systems with that unreliable converter box and 3M connectors.My Nissan Frontier had one that was no good.Thanks to etrailer ,I got the real deal,factory type package that WORKS.I found the videos very helpful,especially in finding the 12 wire relay hookup(mine was tucked under and buried under the backside of the wiring box,under that gray tape).I have made two orders from etrailer,and am quite pleased with both transactions.VERY HAPPY,THANK YOU ETRAILER !!!

It is a slightly more difficult install than models of years gone by. No fault of Tekonsha.
LED tail lights probably have something to do with it making the install require a hot wire routed to the battery back to the harness.
The Jeep JL kit is well thought out and equipped with everything one needs to install short of a couple of small hand tools

Good have had no issues
