Question:
Greetings. Im interested in the Thule Hideaway 8.5 Awning Rack Mount. It would be mounted on two Thule Pro Bars which sit atop a Moonlander MLX Canopy/Camper which is quite high off the ground hence my interest in the Thule with its crank tool opening. Will it come with what I need to mount onto those racks? Also considering the front sunshade panel, and maybe a side one as well will the side panel work on both sides?. Im camping next weekend... what are the chances of getting it all here by mid week. Cheers

Hey John, welcome back. I have a solution for you but the 6' 6" Long x 8' 6" Thule HideAway Awning item # TH490018 bolts directly to the side of vehicles or campers. So you'll need to go with a bigger awning to work with your roof rack.
The Thule HideAway Awning 8' Long x 10' Wide item # TH490010 will definitely attach to the Thule ProBars item # TH713700 you previously purchased using the Roof Rack Adapters for Thule HideAway Awnings item # TH490001. The adapter will attach the awning directly to the t-slots in your Pro bars. Please note your crossbars will need to be a minimum of 36" apart.
The Sun Blocker G2 Front Panel for Thule 8-1/2' HideAway Awning item # TH307285 will work with the side mounted Thule HideAway item # TH490018. Then for the sides you can use the Rain Blocker G2 Side Panel item # TH306515. These are sold individually but work on either side.
The Rain Blocker G2 Front Panel for Thule 10' HideAway Awning item # TH307304 will work with the roof rack mounted Thule HideAway item # TH490010. Then for the sides you can use the Rain Blocker G2 Side Panel item # TH307292. These are sold individually but work on either side.
You'll need to check the shipping estimates on the individual product pages for delivery time.
How long is the flat side your Moonlander MLX Canopy/Camper and how high from the ground is the top of that crossbar?

Thanks Jerred, The MLX on my truck is about 8' long but the front tapers down above the cab so a 10' awning would be just too wide (it would hang above and in front of the tapered overcab portion. The back portion (with the flat roof is about 5 1/2' and I can live with the cassette protruding beyond it 2 1/2' but not beyond the front of the whole canopy. The top of the probars is 8 1/2' from the ground. The cabover section also tapers in from the sides so an 8' awning afffixed to the sides would not work either? I believe Thule does have an 8 1/2' rack mounted Hideaway, part #491008, so my question remains if the 6 1/2' legs are long enough to support deployment without putting undue pressure on the awning. It seems like it would be a suitable angle but I want to know for sure. Anybody out there have a similar situation with the Hideaway? Thanks, John
