Recommended Thule Awning for a 2014 Chevrolet Explorer

Question:
I have a 2014 Chevrolet Explorer conversion van. I would like to know if this awning the TH490018 is the right fit for my van? Also would I have to purchase mounting hardware?

Hey Ken, yeah the Thule HideAway Awning # TH490018 will work great with your 2014 Chevrolet Explorer. This is a direct mount, so it'll install directly to the sidewall of your Explorer using the included hardware, so you won't have to purchase anything additional to install it.

Can you tell me if the direct mount hardware will be fine mounting it on the upper shell of my van with no issues? Due to it being nit metal and fiberglass shell. Also can you tell me if the mounting bracket will fit flush to the side of my van shell? I am just concerned that there might be a weird angle or something that would prevent it from mounting properly.
