Features to know about

Clear Backing with Smart Technology: Smartphone Monitor Display

Say goodbye to bulky monitors cluttering your dashboard. The VueSMART RV and Trailer Backup Camera uses your smartphone as a display. Simply sync it with the Hopkins mobile app on your Android or iOS device, and enjoy a real-time view directly on your phone. This clever integration makes parking trailers and RVs a breeze without the need for any extra screen installations.

Night Driving Made Safer: 6 LED Enhanced Visibility

Driving in low-light conditions can be tricky, especially when reversing a big trailer. With six LEDs surrounding the camera lens, the VueSMART provides enhanced visibility even at night. While it's not equipped with full night vision, these powerful LEDs can illuminate your path, making it easier to avoid any obstacles during those late-night maneuvers.

Quick Installation with Universal Compatibility: Universal Mounting Bracket

Whether you have a compact trailer or a sizeable RV, the VueSMART's universal mounting bracket promises a straightforward setup. It conveniently attaches behind your trailer's brake light, utilizing existing attachment points for a seamless install. No need to worry about complex re-wiring—simply connect it to your tail-light harness for power.

Navigate With Confidence: Wide 152-Degree Viewing Angle

Blind spots can be nerve-wracking, but with a 152-degree viewing angle, the VueSMART Camera minimizes these potentially dangerous areas. It offers an expansive view of what's behind you, ensuring you can navigate and reverse with confidence, significantly reducing the risk of accidents.

Capture Every Moment: Video Recording and Photo Capture

With the VueSMART, capturing important moments is at your fingertips. Whether it’s logging a scenic route or a tricky maneuver for later review, the ability to record video and take photos right from the dashboard screen enhances your control over your travel experiences. Go beyond just viewing—document and enjoy your journeys.

Stay Connected At All Times: Reliable Wireless Transmission

No more cables or wires to deal with, thanks to its wireless frequency of WiFi and a decent range of up to 50 feet. Although the connection might struggle if the distance exceeds this range, it typically maintains a reliable signal, ensuring you catch every crucial moment behind your trailer while you're within range.

This is easy to install and works great for backing into a spot. You MUST connect to it using the WiFi on your phone. No problems with my Apple phone. I had hoped to use this on the road for better views in traffic jams, but connecting to WiFi interferes with Google Maps, which will constantly buffer and not give directions. When I turn on my headlights, the light surrounding the camera lens (for backing in the dark) automatically turns on. I have to be stopped, so I can connect to WiFi, turn off the light, then turn off WiFi. Requires some planning so I’m not irritating the drivers behind me.

by:

Very good overall but requires separate lighting for nighttime use in a dark area. Would have been good if that info had been provided upfront.

Very good. Well-built product.

Wow - The VueSmartRV and Trailer Backup Camera is exactly what I needed! It’s like a Body-cam for my highwall popup trailer. I cannot see behind the trailer at all, when in reverse. This saves me from having to get out to assess and reassess my surroundings. The WiFi signal easily connects to my Moto Z2 (Android) phone through the Hopkins Towing Solutions App. What I like about the camera is that it provides a clear picture of the view behind my popup and there’s no delay or choppiness in its motion. I reversed the bracket so that the marker light is located under the camera. In my case, I benefit most from such a setup since my spare tire blocks the lower portion of my field of view on the screen.

The product still works very well for my purposes a year in. The only issue Ive experienced is that at night-time, there is an LED light that stays on, and because it is white, it blinds those behind me. I wound up selling the trailer a few months ago and sold the camera with it. Although I never tried it, I came to understand that that there is a setting inside the App, which can turn that light off.

by:

After receiving I did not install on my trailer for several months until after I removed the fading stickers and re-polished the exterior.

I was very excited to buy and receive until I installed it and started using. I am not very happy with the camera. I installed it on the back of my 24’ trailer and tapped power from the top center running light. The video display on my IPhone is grainy, choppy and freezes after about a minute of use. During daytime use I have to turn the running lights off then back on to reset the camera after about a minute of use. I cant see at all when I am backing up if its dark, even with the extra lights I installed on the back of my trailer.

I wish I was happier with the performance.

I do not recommend.

I reached out to the manufacturer about the grainy signal that you are receiving. The best solution is to mount the antenna as high as possible to have the best signal. You can also purchase a longer antenna if the antenna cannot be mounted higher. You will want to keep the length of the antenna under two feet.

Superb, top-of-the-line CUSTOMER SERVICE from etrailer!! System installed quite easily on my Jayco Skylark. Engineering of camera and installation accessories, along with instructions, seemed top-notch to me. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality signal that my iPhone received from the camera transmitter. Perhaps I can add more once I get connected and set out for our next camping trip.

Product is working fine. In my own case, an amout of left-to-righ adjustment would have, but I am still happy with my purchase.

@Stephen Sorry to hear that the first one failed, that is why warranties are so great! Glad the new one is holding up. What did you put the camera on?

by:

Works great and costs much less than OEM unit. I was able to use a dremel and some cement to adapt the bracket to fit unit into the factory installed mount site that was already on our R-Pod 195.

by:

The wireless signal from this camera will not reach the tow vehicle making the camera useless. I have a 25 foot travel trailer and a 1/2 ton pickup.

by:

This is a pretty easy install and has the means of adapting to many types of trailers. I’ve attached mine to my car hauler. With the drip rail below the center lamp, I didn’t want to mount it with the entire bracket, as it would then place the camera above the lamp and the lamp might distort the camera image at night. So I cut the bracket and mounted the camera below the drip rail. From watching the installation video, I didn’t even want to attempt to cut the wires to splice them and possibly loose a wire. So I chose to use the scotch-lock type connector with crimp on blade connector on the camera pigtail after drilling an access hole below the drip rail and feeding it up through the center lamp opening. See pictures attached.
The video seems okay. There is a lag here and there.
I will put it to full use this weekend when I return from a car show.

The VueSmart RV camera system was easy to install and set up. I'm not the most confident camper backer, but, with this camera system, I feel a lot more comfortable about doing it.

I have had the VueSmart RV camera system for a year now. I have really enjoyed it. When it is working, it makes backing up in a campground, garage, or driveway very easy. The only issue I have had, is that sometimes connecting to it can be challenging. It doesnt happen often but does happen or looses connection.

by:

Bought this to mount on an older Roadtrek RV. The hardest part of the installation was figuring out how to get power to it. That solved, the camera is brilliant. WiFi range is outstanding. At 50 yards out I still had 3 out of 4 bars and the picture was still fine. I'm thinking about mounting another one on the back of my equipment hauler.

by:

Camera worked as described and installed easily where the previous Cana was and was able to use existing wires to the trailer, goes on and off with the running lights..

by:

Simple, quick and easy installation. Connect to the marker light wiring, mount with the provided bracket that fit perfectly under existing marker lamp and download the app to use. Registration process was a bit quirky else it easy to use.

by:

This product doesn't work. The app won't show an image. The menu doesn't work. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and registering. Still doesn't work. This product is garbage.

by:

Set up in my office and downloaded software Tomy android phone, connect to it's WiFi and walked around the house and could still see the image. Planning to use on a portable mount so can hang on my tailgate on either of my older trucks without backup cameras. And attach to back of pontoon boat when putting in water.

by:

Camera is great! App kept crashing on newer LG phone. Works better on older Samsung. Only 1-2 sec lag. Toggle off LED's before you hit the road. Real test in 2wks on next trip. Picture quality is very good! EZ install. May or may not install antenna holder. Customer Service is the best in the business as always.

by:

Not having any issues with this product thus far. Works well and install wasn't that difficult if you have a little wiring know-how.

by:

Excellent product, a plus for newcomers and experienced RV's
alike!
Excellent customer service!
Out of 10 etrailer.com is an 11

As promised and Heavy duty for sure, all parts and pieces were in the box no thanks to UPS as the box was delivered with bottom tore open on 3 sides so bad I had to dolly the box it was unmovable in its state!!
Excited to install. e trailer was fast and spot on on delivery time!

by:

The camera is a big both parking the trailer and watching for tailgates going down the road. You can't be safe enough.

Good product. Its great going down the road and getting into sites.

by:

Work’s great

by:

The camera was easy to install on the clearance lights on my Lance camper. I use my iPad to monitor my Jeep Wrwngler that I flat tow at times. Gettinq camera show on the camera network has been a challenge. Once it is working, it is great to monitor the Jeep as I tow it. I need to keep the iPad charging as it uses a lot of power running continuously.

by:

I wanted the camera so I could see traffic in back of me while driving. Shortly after leaving the camera would lose connection. Also very slow refreshing. I wasn't able to use it.

by:

Camera works well very nice when backing up not able to see well in the night time, but all in all a very nice camera Nice for its price.

by:

It was a fairly easy installation after i figured out which wire was positive and which was ground(green was positive and white was ground).the camera connects easily to my phone and the picture quaity is quite good.

This will depend on your camera and how it is wired.
