Question:
I have a Sonic 200vml 23 feet that I tow with a ram 1500 quad cab and I can not keep a connection to the camera.

Where is the camera positioned on the rear of the camper?
According to the folks at Hopkins, the # HM34FR trailer back up camera works best when the camera/antenna is placed at the top of the camper's back wall so that the antenna extends just a bit over the height of the roof. This maximizes the range of the camera.
The camera has a 50 foot range when unobstructed, but the camper can prevent communication between the camera and your phone. Raising the camera would be your best bet, as you can see in the linked installation video..
