Is There An RV Backup Camera With A Portable Screen?
Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 01/27/2025 >
Question:
2025 Alliance Delta 262RB Are there any camera systems which offer a portable screen? For instance, have the monitor in the truck while towing, then move to the inside of the trailer at night as a security camera system.

Hey Chris, good question. Virtually all of the backup cameras we offer have their own monitor which installs in the cab. When I think of a portable monitor, one thing that comes to mind is the VueSMART RV and Trailer Backup Camera # HM34FR this is a wireless camera that uses a smartphone as a display. So you could take it with you inside but the backup camera would have to be on, and your phone would have to stay within 50 feet of the camera in order for this to work.
Aside from that, all of our backup cameras such as the Furrion Vision # FOS43TASF have a monitor that installs in the cab. Technically you could remove it from the cab but you would need to find an alternative power source for the monitor. These monitors also have a larger range also. Generally most folks will just get a standard backup camera, then look at alternative solutions for theft prevention like wheel locks or something along those lines.
