How are these 2 products different? Are they the same and just packaged differently since youll only need one for the bow tie down and two for the transom tie down? That's exactly correct. Both G2 ratchet straps are identical with identical mounting hardware. The # IMF08893 includes a pair of straps for use on the boat's transom, and the # IMF14220 includes one strap for use at the bow.

The difference is the metal that the two straps are made of. The more expensive #IMF14256 is made of stainless steel which offers superior corrosion resistance whereas the part #IMF08893 is made of non-stainless steel and that is why it costs less.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
