dodge Ram Pickup

This is the perfect bike carrier for the Ram Promaster. The install is straight forward and doesn't require professional installation. It is nice to have the bikes mounted high and out of the was for a box or spare tire to be mounted on the drivers side rear door.

I got an electric bike now ant cannot lift it on to the rack. I now ratchet the bike up to the rack. Do you make a lift rack for heavier bikes?

@Douglas Hey, Douglas. Currently we don't have any sort of lift to help get the bike on the carrier. Are you removing the battery before putting the bike on the carrier?

The Thule Elite Van Bike Rack is near perfect for my Winnebago Travato ProMaster van. The spare tire on the Aluminess carrier makes for a tight fit in the bike rack middle section but all in all functions fine. I am totally pleased with the rack and your company.

Works great! Folds up nicely when not in use. Bikes are on solidly, and don’t touch the van or each other. The bikes are also completely behind the van, well protected. Both bikes mount on one door, allowing the door to swing open with bikes on it. We did put a small piece of climbing webbing between the van body and the door to prevent the door from swinging all the way around and hitting the side of the van. The rack would otherwise hit the tail light.

It was a bit tricky to find the glue needed (see photo, product available on [online vendor]). Make sure you have a strong caulking gun because the glue is hard to get out.

2019 Ram ProMaster 2500

The bike rack seems very good and sturdy. It arrived right on time as well. We're still in the process of putting it on. 4 stars only because the directions are so bad - we had to find out what products and sealants to buy on our own.

Ram ProMaster 2500

Almost the perfect bike rack for the Promaster. No complaints after a year of use. Thousands of miles with road bikes, gravel bikes, and modern mountain bikes on there and no problems that weren't my own.

And if you are creative, you can use the rack for other things, like carry a storage box or traction tracks.

Well worth the money if you want to keep your hitch free for other things.

A few years with the Thule rack and its still a good bang for the buck. But there are better options out there now vs a few years ago, for a bit more money but greater versatility. I wouldnt buy the Thule now. I would invest in a door mounting system where you can mount bikes and other things on the door.

After owning the rack for a year I took a trip cross country eventhiygh the knobs on my rack where tight when inledt one unscrewed and I lost the part that holds the top together and Incan nkt get the extra part to replace it. Can't remove the rack as is been glued down - not very happy

Kimberly, I’m really sorry this happened, especially while you were on a trip. I know how frustrating that must have been. I did reach out to Thule on your behalf, and they let us know that this issue wouldn’t be covered under warranty. The replacement part you’ll need is the Replacement 3-Wing Hand Knob with Nut for Thule Bike Racks, Black, 2-Piece Set # TH34FR58NX. They also shared a bit of additional guidance that may help going forward. Even when everything is tightened properly before travel, long trips and road conditions can cause connection points to loosen over time. Thule recommends checking the rack after the first 50 km, which is about 30 miles, and then inspecting it at regular intervals after that to make sure everything stays secure. Again, I’m very sorry this happened during your trip.

Excellent service from etrailer, even arrived sooner than promised. Unfortunately the tape on the shipping box was broken on 3 sides, so I just had to lie it down to open it. Fortunately nothing had fallen out during shipping.

Worst packaging and directions. I can NOT believe this is actually a Thule product. And the fact that etrailer did not suggest/provide and option for the necessary adhesive is simply a lack of product knowledge and service. Shame on both.

I checked the instructions for the Thule Elite Van XT 2 Bike Rack # TH302013 and it states that you should use one of the following adhesives: Dekalin MS 5, SIKA 252 or Terostat MS937

So far this is a great rack. Its fully adjustable, holds the bikes firmly,allows the door to swing out with bike loaded,and pares down when not using by removing bike trays. This rack with even one bike loaded WILL place stress on door hinges. Lifting up when using the door loaded helps.Also, we installed a cable to the door top to prevent it from swinging too far open when loaded with bikes. It can be difficult to fit 2 bikes depending on the handlebar configuration.

2017 Ram ProMaster 2500

Expensive, but worth the cost! Easy to install with clear instructions. Folds away cleanly when not in use, you can use the shorter bike latch to secure the folded rack in place more easily than the included strap. The only problem I've had is that if you're about 6' tall, with the rack in the highest position it's just above your sightline but squarely in "crack you in the forehead" range, so keep that in mind when deciding which height to use.

2021 Ram ProMaster 3500

So far, so good. I haven't had a chance to install this bike rack on my Winnebago Solis 59PX, but was impressed with the packaging, the instructions, and the quality of the materials. It appears to be a well-designed product and I feel comfortable that it will be sturdy enough to securely carry two bikes. The service I received from etrailer.com was also excellent. They shipped the order very quickly and provided detailed tracking information every step of the way.

2019 Winnebago Travato Motorhome

I think the quality of this bike rack is excellent. Thule makes great products. This one mounts on my Promaster van. I don't know that I needed to buy the special adhesive to mount the rack so I have to wait till I receive that product. If I knew in advance that it was not included but needed I would have acquired it in advance. Not a big deal but would be good for purchasers to know. All good.

Placed order for Thule Bike Rack online. 4 hours later order was filled and was waiting for pickup. 2 hours later UPS picked up from Nevada. The next day arrived in California and was loaded onto vehicle for delivery. Got the bike rack late that afternoon. What is not to like?

Assembly was easy and the bikes stay right during the ride. We did jiggle off a thumb nut during one bumpy right but we assume that was partly our fault. Bikes are easily strapped in with this system and it fit great on our Zion Roadtrek

2022 Winnebago Solis 59PX Fitment With Thule Elite Van XT 2 Bike Rack
It looks like your Winnebago Solis 59PX is built on a Ram ProMaster chassis which the Thule Elite Van XT 2 Bike Rack # TH302013 is designed to fit. Just to give you a little reassurance about fitment the brackets measure 32-5/8" long and Thule calls for them to be spaced about 46-1/2" apart from top to bottom which looks like it will clear the dimensions of your doors (thank you for providing that by the way). Should I Use Tape or Glue for the Thule Elite Van XT Rack? for a 2021 ProMaster 1500?
For the Thule Elite Van XT, part # TH302013, Thule recommends Dekalin MS 5, SIKA 252 or Terostat MS937 glue. A 2-way tape can accomplish this, however I recommend going with one of the glues. Finding a 2-way tape that can handle that amount of weight is difficult. Plus, speaking from experience, 2-way tape fails much more than glue (when they are rated for the same weight). The glue is your best bet.

Is Glue Necessary to Mount the Thule Elite Van XT on a Ram ProMaster and Can the Rails be Removed
I spoke with Thule regarding the glue alternatives for installing the Thule Elite Van XT, part # TH302013, on a 2018 Ram ProMaster 2500. In order to mount this without glue, you will need to use bolts to keep this mounted on your ProMaster. That would require drilling into the door. As for being able to remove the rails after applying glue, you will not be able to do this. This is a permanent mount that relies on its ability to stay one to support the bikes.

Louis, the Thule Elite Van XT # TH302013 is available but its actually designed to fit 2014-2024 Ram ProMaster vans and is not going to work with your Transit. Instead, I'd recommend going with a hitch mounted bike rack like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # HLY84FR; you'd just need to add a trailer hitch like the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98842 as well.

Troubleshooting Knob of Thule Elite Van XT Bike Rack that Just Spins
If the knob of your Thule Elite Van XT 2 Bike Rack for Ram ProMaster Rear Door # TH302013 has stripped out what that means is that the plastic housing that surround the nut has detached from the nut. What you would need to do is basically destroy the knob so that you can get to the nut with a wrench. Once you get there you'd want to spray it with WD40 so that it will release. Since your installer over tightened it I would let them know before you proceed though to see if you can get them...

I looked up the strength of the Manus Bond 75-AM adhesive and it may work fine, but it is rated lower in strength compared to the recommended adhesives so I would stick with one of the recommended adhesives to be on the safe side.
