This direct-connect base plate gives your setup a clean, factory-style look when you’re not towing. Once the drawbars are removed, the remaining brackets sit back inside the grille and stay practically invisible. That placement keeps everything protected from scrapes and scuffs and eliminates the bulky quick-disconnect crossbar that would otherwise stick out up front.
Connecting takes just a few seconds thanks to the twist-lock attachment system. Slide each arm into the bracket, twist to lock, and it clicks securely in place. When you’re ready to disconnect, pull the built-in release ring, twist again, and lift the arm out. It’s a simple, reliable setup that works smoothly whether you’re hitching up for a long trip or stowing things away after the drive.
Every bracket is computer-cut from all-steel stock for precise fit and exceptional strength. The black powder coat finish adds corrosion resistance for years of use through weather and road grime. Bolting directly to the vehicle’s frame spreads towing forces evenly, giving dependable support over thousands of miles without needing any welding.
The kit mounts with standard tools and includes all necessary hardware and instructions for installation—no welding required. Once bolted up, the direct-connect design works exclusively with Roadmaster motor-home-mounted tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch, like the Nighthawk, Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, or Falcon 2 series. That one connection point keeps your towing gear streamlined and ready to roll whenever you are.

The part was exactly what I needed. The best part was that I received it the day after I ordered it!
Got here sooner than expected! It took two guys 2.5 hours to install. Still need to measure very carefully as and drill access holes in bumper the bumper. The area is not a smooth place so it’ll be interesting.
Received the right product and it was on time.
Your service is always excellent.
Fast shipping, great communications
Great product and complete, easy to follow instructions...
I had my jeep ready when The Base plate arrived yesterday. It took maybe an hour to fully install it. Easy Peazy.
I am especially happy with the fast shipping and the quality of the product is great. Can’t wait to install these on my vehicle.
workmanship and finish as delivered looks excellent. Should work and last long just as an earlier set did.
instructions were very good. video was very helpful. Great product well designed, very functional. wish I had this setup years ago. (2006 jeep liberty) no pictures, same as your video. clean.
Produce was installed a few weeks ago, used the new towbar everything is working very well. Very pleased with the product and the customer service.
Alignment of frame and base plate on drivers side was an issue. Once installed everything seemed in order. Works just fine.
Fairly straight forward install. Works well.
Instructions and list of items needed for my year and model of car provided by etrailer was amazingly helpful. Had everything installed professionally, and after a year, everything is working great.
The bracket install went as expect with the helpful video. One bracket ended up being slightly crooked, I am not sure why, the Jeep has never been hit or damaged, there doesn’t seem to be any problem. The connection lines up ok, just looks a little off. Quick delivery from etrailer
Fit great, easy to install with the help of your vedio, installing Roadmaster hitch on 2007 Jeep Liberty. Shipping from etrailer was fast and product was packaged great.
Happy with the finished product, but had real problems installing it. First, the instructions were for a different vehicle than the one I specified. Thank God for the video online: it WAS for my vehicle. A pain running in and out from the computer (I can't see the small phone details), but it worked. Second, the passenger baseplate had what appeared to be a casting mark in a small area where a bolt head was. It was impossible to get a socket or wrench on the bolt; I spent a half hour or so with a file getting rid of a small ridge that prevented the socket from entering the area. The passenger side also did not fit well; all the bolts had to be as loose as possible to get the nuts started, one hole was nearly a half a hole off from where it needed to be. The drivers side was fine in all aspects.
In the end, though, it is on and looks great. Presumably it will tow great as well.
I purchased this product in March 2019 and it has worked flawlessly. Installation was pretty easy once revised mounting arms were received. The original versions were welded incorrectly. etrailer replaced them in expedited fashion. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE by Lori B.
Product was perfect fit and seems very solid in it's construction and the way it mounts. I am completely satisfied with the product as i bought both the bracket kit and a wiring kit.
The base plate kit should for this Jeep Liberty 2004 should have included the 6 outer bumper fascia attaching clips because these will break just about every time you take off the front bumper. Also they should supply you with a small tube of Loctite since you will always need it. So for the big price, they should throw this stuff in there but that's just my opinion.
All in all great product, great folks to deal with and I will shop here again
Easy to install and realy easy to use!
Easy to install, works great on 2006 Jeep liberty, Thanks Jim Wimberly
Until I received the follow up e-mail from Carrieann at etrailer.com, I had completely forgotten about these Roadmaster EZ5 baseplates on my 2007 Jeep Liberty. That sums up my experience and satisfaction. Once installed, I just want it to work and not cause problems that I have to think about or solve.
The RM EZ5 has been easy to use and trouble free. If I were to nit-pick, installation was beyond my capabilities, tools and patience, even with the great eTrailer video. I paid a local shop $200 to install them which included using the proper tool to cut a smooth hole in the bumper cover.
With the arms removed, it's hardly noticeable on the Jeep. Attaching the arms is quick and easy and connecting the tow bar is painless compared to other systems I've used in the past. Yes, they're a tad pricey but they cost less than having the towed go "walk-about" while underway.
Perfect directions. Everything included to install onto 2002 Jeep Liberty. Pretty straight forward for person with mechanical abilities. No cutting of any plastic on this front end in pic. Good stuff!
We've only towed our Jeep a few times since I've installed it . We did have a tow mishap last year while travelling in Utah after our Bryce Canyon visit. It happened because the cotter pin that holds the left side tow arm pin from disengaging from the Base Plate Removable Arm had sheared off while we were travelling on the freeway. Thank God I installed a rear camera on our Class C RV and I saw it when it happened. I was able to slow down and pull over to the shoulder and once stopped, that was when I discovered that only the right side of the tow arm was attached to the Base Plate. It held up even when the Jeep was fishtailing behind the RV. I was very happy and relieved that there was no major damage to our RV and the Jeep in this mishap.
good service, easy to order parts as I have several times before
Once I removed the grill and bumper the install went fairly well. Having an impact wrench is a big plus. Reinstalling the bumper and grill you will have to use the plastic revits they seny with the kit.

Great and no problem at all. We just completed a round trip from southern California, Oregon and Washington last April towing our Jeep, driving along the winddy Pacific Coast Highway. Very satisfied with this purchased product from etrailer.com
