Parts Needed For Flat Towing 2005 Jeep Liberty

Updated 08/01/2024 | Published 07/29/2024

Question:

I have the roadmaster falcon tow bar, and also the cross bar, used on a 1998 Jeep cherokee. I want to use this two bar on a 2005 jeep liberty. What base plate do I need and are there any parts I can reuse, that were installed on the Cherokee?

Hello Mark, thanks for reaching out. You can use the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521423-5 to connect your Falcon tow bar to your 2005 Jeep Liberty. Generally the tow bar and safety cables are the only components that can be re used. Depending on what lighting and braking system you were using, some components may be able to be reused, but I will need to know exactly what parts you have installed in order to say for sure. Here is a full list of the parts I recommend for flat towing your Jeep:

- Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-521423-5

- Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267

- Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional # SM99251

- Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400

Would a 2006 Liberty take the same base kit?
