Shane: Hey guys, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at floor registers by Valterra. This is what our register is going to look like when it's installed. This is going to be a plastic construction, which I was kind of leery about at first. But once I got it out of the packaging and got it installed, actually it's pretty durable. And why was I worried about it It's because of being on the floor and stepping on it, potentially cracking or breaking. The nice thing about it being plastic is we don't have the metal edges that could bend, potentially cutting your feet.
This is going to be a dampened register, which means it allows you to adjust your airflow by how much air you want going into one area. For instance, we're in our bathroom here. If we want to open it just a little bit because this area is smaller, we can close the door and we're getting more airflow out into the main area where we're going to be most of the time.To measure for your vent, or for your register, there's a couple of ways you can do it. You can pull it out and measure the opening at the bottom of your register, or you can measure from inside edge to inside edge here, length then width. You might find that this is, it could come up to 3 1/2 inches, you want to round up to four.
So if this measures 3 1/2, run up to four, if this measures 7 1/2, you're going to run up to eight. That'll give you the correct size you need for your register.Keep in mind with the plastic one, the mounting holes are going to be off a little bit. They're not going to line up with the exact holes from your metal register if you have a metal register installed in your camper already. Other than that, that's going to do it for a look at replacement floor registers by Valterra..
