Question:
I am currently towing a 2008 Ford Edge with a Blue OX baseplate, will this baseplate work on a 2012 Ford Edge? It does not have EcoBoost or adaptive cruise control.

Expert Reply:
The Blue Ox Base Plates for the 2008 Ford Edge, # BX2190, will not fit the 2012 Ford Edge. You will need base plates # BX2628 that you referenced instead. The good news is that some of the tow bars will fit both so if you have the Blue Ox Acclaim, Adventurer, Aventa, Aladdin, or Allure tow bar it will work with the new base plates.
You will need a new wiring system as well. I have included a link to the available options for you to view. I have also included a link to our FAQ articles on flat towing for you.
