If you like a clean, factory look when you’re not towing, this setup keeps it that way. The hidden design means the brackets won’t stick out past the front of your vehicle, and the removable arms twist off easily for a seamless appearance. When they’re off, snap in the receiver covers to keep dirt and debris out and give it a finished look.
Hooking up the tow bar is simple thanks to the twist-lock system. Just slide each arm into the base plate receivers, rotate until they lock in place, and secure them with the pull pin. When you’re done towing, pull the pin, twist, and lift them out. It’s quick, solid, and easy to do even on your own at the campsite or in your driveway.
This base plate bolts directly to your chassis—no welding required. The sturdy steel design spreads towing force evenly across mounting points to help protect your suspension from added stress during long hauls. The powder-coated finish resists rust and corrosion so it stays looking sharp after miles of road use.
Pair it directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure connection, or use an adapter (RM-031 or RM-031-5 for Roadmaster, DM9523041 for Demco—sold separately) if you’re running other gear. Integrated mounting points make it easy to attach an electrical connector bracket (sold separately) so your wiring stays organized and accessible when you’re setting up your flat-towing rig.
Every detail on this kit is designed for confidence on the highway. The brackets measure 24" between mounting points with a 12-3/4" bracket height, giving you solid alignment reference for your tow bar setup. It includes all hardware for a straightforward bolt-on install and is backed by a 3-year warranty for peace of mind on every trip.

Its been two years since installation of the Blue Ox Baseplate. Since then, Ive flat towed the CRV from NJ to FL and back three separate times with many other shorter trips in between. Paired with a Blue Ox Tow Bar, the system has worked flawlessly since installation.

Follow up. Ive put about 8000 miles on the setup and its been great. A 34 ton suburban pulls nicely behind my Dutch star, and they dont have a steering lock so its nice not to have to retrieve keys when stopping for the night. I have used the safety cable attachment a few times for straight line pulls with a small shackle when working as a rally racing volunteer, its been fine but I wouldnt side pull on it.
