Question:
Hi there, ?I’m looking at installing your hitch on my 2020 Buick Encore GX ST. My vehicle has the hands-free liftgate identified by the logo projection light on the bumper, which appears identical to the model used in your installation video. ?Your documentation states this hitch is not for use with kick sensor models, foot yet the video shows a successful install on a vehicle equipped with one. Specifically, the video shows the wiring being disconnected but doesnt mention any loss of functionality. ?Can you clarify if the incompatibilityfoot is due to a physical fitment issue, or if its just a warning that the hitch might interfere with the sensors signal? If its the latter, does the sensor still function reliably once the hitch is in place? ?Thanks in advance!

Hello Mark,
Thanks so much for writing in!
I would have been confused too. It looks like someone updated the wording on our tech tip. It used to mention that the hitch could interfere with the hands free tailgate feature, but in our experience you can still use it. Sometimes you just need to find that sweet spot by moving your foot a little to the right or left of the receiver.
The Blue Ox Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # BLU42UR is going to be a great fit for your 2025 Buick Encore GX ST.
If you are planning on doing some light towing or using a hitch mounted accessory and need wiring, you will want the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C37UR if you have LED lights. If you do not have LED lights, you will want # C97VV.
Need a ball mount? To tow level with a standard 16" tall coupler, you will want something with about a 5" rise. The Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 5" Rise, 6-1/8" Drop - 9-3/8" Long - 10,000 lbs # C45336 is a great option. Since we do not have a 5" rise combo, you will also need a 2" Hitch Ball - 1-1/4" Diameter x 2-5/8" Long Shank - Chrome - 10,000 lbs # A-90.
Now that I have you all set up with a tow package, I have to ask, what are you planning to use the hitch for?
