Expert Reply:
The Weigh Safe Stainless Steel Hitch Ball with Built-In Scale # WSUN-1 requires that the ball mount it is used with has a 3/4-inch thick ball platform.
The B&W 2-1/2-inch Ball Mount # BWBMHD30214 that you referenced has a ball platform that is 1-inch thick so it will not work with this ball. Same holds for part # AMSCV-6.
Sine this hitch ball is rated to 10K, the larger and heavier-duty 2-1/2-inch ball mounts like those noted above, which are rated for much more weight, will be too thick for it. Most in the 2-1/2-inch size will have a ball platform thickness of 7/8-inch or 1-inch.
What you might want to do is select a 2-inch ball mount like the 10K # C45336 and use it with a reducer sleeve # C45405. This ball mount has the required 3/4-inch thick ball platform that will work with the Weigh Safe ball.
