How Can I Decrease The Gap Between Timbrens And Axle?

Updated 10/20/2025 | Published 06/29/2025

Question:

I just installed the FRTT350J on my 20225 F350 Dually. I used the spacers as instructed, but the gap between the rubber and the axle is 2 1/8inch . The paperwork says 1/2inch to 1 1/2. Please advise.

Hello Charles, thanks for reaching out. Yes a 2-1/8" gap is too much. Sounds like you are going to need additional 1" spacers. For that you can use the following:

- Timbren 1" Spacer For Raised Frame Vehicles - 3/8" Bushing # A25723-90AH00

Please note that using additional spacers may mean the included bolts are not long enough. In this case you will need to source longer bolts at a local hardware store.

Thanks for the information. I’ve already ordered the additional spacers. My F350 is “stock” so you should have a way to let customers know that the additional spacers will be needed so they don’t have to install them twice.

@CharlesW That would be the first I have heard of a truck with stock suspension needing additional spacers beyond what is included with the kit. Timbren tests these and custom tailors each kit for the stock suspension. I see you put the word "stock" in quotation marks. Do you have some kind of factory package that adds a lift?

@JesseM not that I'm aware of. It does show 14,000 GVW in the options but other than that, it's a regular F350 DRW 4x4.

@CharlesW Interesting. Perhaps this is something unique to the new model year. Will definitely keep this in mind going forward next time I am dealing with one of these trucks.
