Can Spacer be Used on Lifted Jeep Gladiator with SumoSprings Kit

Updated 02/04/2025 | Published 02/02/2025

Question:

Bought a set of blue sumo springs for a 21 gladiator Mojave. The jeep has a lift kit from the factory. Do I need spacers for my sumo springs? The gap seems to be a bit excessive. I tow a 4000lb rv with a WDH. Thanks in advance.

How William, how big of a gap is there? With the SumoSprings they recommend a gap of between 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch so you might need spacers. We have heard of people being able to use Timbren spacers like part # A25723-90AH00 with the SumoSprings kits. This is a 1 inch spacer.

I have a "loose" one inch gap between the blue sumo spring and the frame. I get a ton of squat before the spring does anything. Before I ordered the sumo springs from you, I did advise that I had a Mojave Gladiator. The Mojave comes from the factory with a lift. I know the Mojave suspension is softer and I pull a 4000 lb trailer so I need helpers.

@WilliamG Okay in that case a 1/2 inch spacer would be your best option. For that we have the part # TA25722-90P00 which will work but you will need to source a longer bolt locally at a hardware store. This will allow the spring to engage a lot sooner and give you the support you are looking for.
