Video Transcript for Timbren Vehicle Suspension TA25722-90P00 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a Timbren 1/2 inch Spacer for raised frame vehicles. Timbren recommends that you have a 1/2 inch to an inch of clearance between the Timbren and the contact point when the vehicle isn't under a load. If the clearance is more than what's recommended, then a spacer is the ideal solution. It installs easily and allows you to have full function of your Timbren suspension system even though you have a vehicle with a raised frame. This particular spacer measures a 1/2 inch thick. Top to bottom is 1/2 inch.

The hole here in the center will accepts 3/8 inch diameter hardware.Remember that you may need longer hardware since you're adding the spacer to your setup. You can go to your local hardware shop and pick something up. That's exactly what we do when we install these on customer vehicles here in our shop. When it comes to the overall diameter, edge to edge we're looking at four inches. With this part number you get one spacer.

I also want to mention that we do offer this in a one inch thickness with part number A25723-90AH00. You can view that right here at etrailer.com. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Timbren 1/2 inch spacer for raised frame vehicles.

I am very happy with the performance of Timbrens on my 2014 Ford F-250. When unloaded and not needed, the Timbrens sit idle, but when I hitch up my 7000 lb trailer, the Timbrens provide additional support to the stock springs which results in better rear end stance and better handling while towing. I think it makes my F-250 more like a F-350 when towing. Because the original Timbrens installed were about 1 and 1/2 inches from the axle, I added the 1/2 spacer, which put the Timbrens in ideal position in regard to the axle and loading. 368833

I have had these on many of my trucks, great product, better than air bags for me. I put these on a 2013 F-150 that pulls a 5000 pound boat. Easy installation and nice ride. Keeps my headlights aimed properly, no sag. Highly recommend. 443337

Product works great! Installed these on a 2018 Ford F150 that has a leveling kit. I didn't want the truck to sit below level in the rear when towing my trailer. I tried the Timben without these initially, and then purchased these to maintain the ride height I was looking for. Well worth the money. 606772

The guys at e-trailer and Timbren are great. Needed 1/2” spacers for my Tundra for my timbren overloads and they had them to me in 2 days. They fit and work great. Exactly what I needed. Thanks. 563946

Works well. At first, I had too many spacers, and it caused a harsh ride. I removed 1" of rubber and got my good, no load ride back. When I hitch up my 5th wheel toy hauler, I get a sure, stable ride, without rear end sag and front end lift. 442481

The spacers are great. I had previously installed the TORTUN4 Timbrens, but with a 6" lift the truck still sat too low in the rear when loaded. The spacers allowed the timbrens to come into affect much sooner and prevent rear end sag. Didn't know spacers were an option until I found them on etrailer. Thanks for an awesome website! 441214

Love my Timbrens and been using them for years. These 1/2 spacers are handy to help dial in perfect ride height. 403557

I put these on a 2007 Tundra and this past summer it pulled work& play toy hauler from Pa. To Yellowstone and back with no issues. The truck handled the weight great. 308112

Ask the Experts about this Timbren Accessories and Parts
Do you have a question about this Accessories and Part?

  • Are Timbren Spacers Required for a Leveling Kit on a 2017 Ford F-350
  • Generally speaking, most leveling kits lift the front of the truck 1-2" to match the rear as the factory ride height on most pickup trucks nowadays is about 2" lower in the front than in the rear. This is usually to compensate for squatting while towing with a trailer. As long as the rear of the truck is not lifted then you will not need to use a spacer when installing the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System part # TFRTT350J on your 2017 Ford F-350. However, if the the leveling kit...

  • One Inch Spacer for Timbren Rear Helper Springs on a 2015 Ford F-250
  • The spring bars should be rated appropriately for the trailer tongue weight so I do not recommend going to different bars unless the capacity is required. The better option is to go with the Timbren spacer # A25723-90AH00 like you said. The spacer is 1 inch tall and they are sold in quantities of 1. There is also a 1/2 inch spacer # TA25722-90P00.

  • Timbren Rear Axle Jounce Spring Kit for 2002 Ford F-350 4WD Towing 34-Foot Travel Trailer
  • The SumoSprings Rear Axle Jounce Spring kit # SSR-114-54, which fits the 2WD version of the 2002 Ford F-350, has a 2800-lb weight capacity which would be suitable for your travel trailer application but since you have lift on the truck I suggest the Timbren kit # TFR350SDE if you have 2WD or kit # TFRTT350E if you have 4WD. For these kits we have spacers available for lifted trucks that will ensure you can position these springs at the correct distance above the axle. When the truck...

  • Using the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System On a Lifted 2015 Ford F-150
  • We have both front and rear Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems for your 2015 Ford F-150. For the front of your truck you will want to use part # TFF150G and for the rear you will want to use part # TFRTT1504E. Timbren recommends a distance of 1" from the bottom of the bump stop to the top of the contact point. You can achieve this distance on trucks that are lifted using increments of the Timbren 1/2" Spacer part # TA25722-90P00 and the Timbren 1" Spacer part # A25723-90AH00 until the...

  • Recommended Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement for 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with 4
  • We have spacers that you can add to accommodate a 4" lift on your 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, but there are no Timbren kits available that come preset for a 4" lift. If your Wrangler Unlimited is a 4WD then I recommend going with the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TJRJK. If you have a 2WD then you will want the part # TABSJRJK instead. You can accommodate your lift by choosing a combination of the following spacers for raised frame vehicles: 3/8" Bushing 1/2" Spacer...

  • Installing Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops on 2016 Toyota 4Runner with 1-1/2 Inch Lift
  • The Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops # TABSTORSEQ referenced in your question are confirmed to fit your 2016 Toyota 4Runner. As you mentioned, you should have 1/2 inch to 1-1/2 inch gap between the rubber spring and contact point when the vehicle is empty. The closer to around 1 inch, the better. In order to maintain that gap with the 1-1/2 inch lift you have on your 4Runner, you can simply add a Timbren Spacer like the 1/2 inch # TA25722-90P00 or the 1 inch # A25723-90AH00 to close...

  • How Close to Vehicle Frame Should Timbren Springs Sit Once Installd
  • Timbren likes to recommend 1 inch between the axle and the Timbren when the truck is unloaded. We have found that this works the best. For a 1/2 inch spacer you would need the part # TA25722-90P00 and then for a 1 inch spacer part # A25723-90AH00. One of each of these will work great to get your Timbren setup right where it needs to be.

  • Can Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement Install on Lifted 2018 Ford F-150
  • You can install the Timbren front suspension kit part # TFR1504E on a 2018 Ford F-150 with a lift kit but you'll need to use spacers to take up the additional space created. Timbren recommends a distance of 1" from the bottom of the bump stop to the top of the contact point. You can do this by using increments of the Timbren 1/2" Spacer part # TA25722-90P00 and the Timbren 1" Spacer part # A25723-90AH00 until the 1" of space is acquired.

  • Recommended Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System for a 2017 Toyota Tacoma with 4 Leaves
  • For your 2017 Toyota Tacoma, I recommend using the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TTORTUN4 because you have 4 leaf springs. If you had 3 leaf springs then you would want to use the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TTORTUN4L. The bump stop attaches to the top of the leaf spring pack and makes contact with the bottom of the frame rail. If this distance has been altered with the leveling kit you have installed on your truck, then you will need to use...

  • The Timbren helper springs for the rear axle of your 2008 Toyota Tundra is # TTORTUN4. Spacers are not required unless the truck has a suspension lift. If it does you would use spacers (and potentially longer hardware obtained locally) equal to the amount of lift. Timbren has 1 inch spacers, # A25723-90AH00, and 1/2 inch spacers, # TA25722-90P00.

  • The Timbren Spacers, like the 1" # A25723-90AH00 or 1/2" # TA25722-90P00, are designed to be used with a Timbren suspension enhancement system so you will not want to use them with your factory bumpstops. I spoke with my contact at Timbren about using the Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops # TABSTOF with the 2-1/4" lift on your 2015 Toyota Tundra and my contact said that no spacers will be needed when installing these. The Off-Road Bumpstops are rated for 1,800 lbs, but keep in mind...

  • If you have a working front suspension, the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System # TDDF974A shouldn't raise your front end but just keep it from bottoming out. It isn't intended to change the empty ride of your vehicle, but to engage as the factory suspension needs the additional support. They do act like shock absorbers getting more rigid as they compress to support the load. If you want to engage the spring sooner you can add a spacer if needed in 1 inch increments using # A25723-90AH00...

  • The Timbren Suspension Enhancement System # TFRTT350J referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2019 Ford F-250 and will do a great job of adding support to the rear axle. If you have a true suspension lift on your F-250 where the axle was actually moved further from the frame then you will likely need to add a spacer. These are available in 1 inch # A25723-90AH00 and 1/2 inch # TA25722-90P00 sizes. You basically just need to use the amount of spacers that it takes so that...

  • The springs are different between Timbren helper spring kits # TFR250SDG and # TFR350SDF. The F-250 version uses a spring that is 4-1/2 inches tall. The F-350 version uses a spring that is 5-3/16 inches tall. Both systems are rated for 8,600 pounds. You could use the F-250 version and then add 2 spacers, # TA25722-90P00, to get it closer to the taller spring height found on the F-350 kit.

  • Jounce Bumper Spring versus Air Springs on a lifted 2008 Ford F-250
  • For your 2008 Ford F-250, I can help you with enhancing your factory suspension. You are correct in saying that the air bags have more flexibility, but do require more maintenance than the jounce spring systems which are maintenance free. Either option will work with your lifted truck, but if you are primarily concerned about suspension support when towing your 5th wheel, then the jounce replacement springs are an excellent low cost option. For your needs, I'd suggest the Timbren Rear...

  • The Timbren Suspension Enhancement System # TGMRCK15S is the correct kit for your 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500. They'll replace the factory bump stops. Since you have a suspension lift you're going to need spacers for them to work. We carry 1 inch, # A25723-90AH00 and 1/2 inch, # TA25722-90P00 spacers. You'll need to measure the area between your truck's frame and axle where the factory bump stops currently are to determine how much lift you need on the springs.

  • Should Larger Timbren Spacers be Trimmed to Fit Smaller Diameter Timbren Springs
  • The spacers you have ( # A25723-90AH00 and # TA25722-90P00 ) do not have to be trimmed provided that they do not make contact with any other part of the truck. Keeping them the size they are will work out great. I do recommend trying just the 1 inch size first because often times the amount of actual lift is less than the size of the lift kit.

  • Is the 1/2" Spacer # TA25722-90P00 Compatible with the Timbren # TNRTTN on a 2017 Nissan Titan
  • Yes, the Timbren 1/2" Spacer # TA25722-90P00 is compatible with the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TNRTTN for your 2017 Nissan Titan. Please note that per the linked instructions for the suspension kit Timbren says that there should be a 1/2" - 1-1/2" gap between the rubber spring and contact point when there is no load in the vehicle. If you installed this kit and you have 1/2" of space then you actually won't need the spacer.

  • Recommended Spacer For 2007 Toyota Tundra With Timbren Suspension Enhancement System
  • Per the installation instructions for Timbren Suspension, part # TTORTUN4, you should have between 1/2 to 1-1/2 inches of clearance between the rubber spring and the contact point when empty. It sounds like you are at the upper part of that. I recommend using a 1/2 inch spacer like part # TA25722-90P00 since you said you are very close to 1/2 inch when your fifth wheel is loaded. This would eliminate the gap you have with the trailer and still not affect the empty ride.

  • How Much Distance is Ideal between Vehicle Frame and Timbren Spring
  • Timbren likes to recommend 1 inch between the axle and the Timbren when the truck is unloaded. We have found that this works the best. This allows the suspension to feel when the vehicle is unloaded and still gives you support when needed when towing. Since you have 1-1/2 inches currently you'd want to use the 1/2 inch spacer part # TA25722-90P00 to give you the ideal support/ride quality. Then for a the front axle you'd want the part # TGMFK25D which is confirmed as a fit as well.
