Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Lippert Replacement Double Ball Joint for Lippert Electric Coach Steps.Now, this does have all the hardware you need to replace that crucial part on your step. It's just gonna leave the double ball joint underneath your single, double, or triple electric Lippert Coach Step, or Stromberg Carlson Sliding Step.This connects the gear plate to the rotating arm. So, as you can see, we've got this threaded bolt in between the two links there. And that's going to allow you to adjust that to the length that you need. At its most compact, I'll give you a measurement of how long that is.It also comes with the two bolts to go on either side of those rotating ball joints.So, at its smallest, from end to end, it's about 4 1/2". And if we thread it out, about as long as it will go, I'll give you another measurement there.So, this is a ...
Whenever you get this, it is gonna be separate. You will have these two pieces here. They do have a little bit of grease on there to make them easier to move around that socket. And then this threaded bolt is in between. So, that one's all the way out.
Let's take this one as far out as it will go.Now, the two bolts it comes with are gonna be a little different from each other. As you can see, one has a shorter shoulder than the other. So, just note that whenever you're replacing your component, to note which one goes where, so that you don't have the wrong threading.All right. So, those are out about as far as it will go. And now, the whole thing is gonna be about 6 1/2".
So, that just gives you an idea about how much space you have there to adjust.Again, we have those two bolts. One is going to be about 2" long. The other, about 1 1/2. And again, those are the same thread, pitch, and size. It's just that one has that slightly longer shoulder on it.So, that's gonna do it for our look at the Lippert Replacement Double Ball Joint for Lippert Electric Coach Steps..

Fair not as good as original. Btw: Lippert is taking you and RV folks for a “ride”. Both the original brackets $[XX] at any auto supply store….and the worn gear assembly for the step gear can be bought on line for less than $[XX].
Motor is nothing but Japanese electrical window opener…Mazda/etc. Simple to replace.
Instructions would have been nice when adjusting-replacing adjusting the length of bracket….(Upside down.)
Very well made replacement part for my Monaco retracting steps. Easy to install and has been performing flawlessly. Picture is of the old part needing to be replaced.

no problems with the step operation. works really well.
After 15 years, my electric steps on my DP motorhome stopped working. When I investigated, I found that one of the ball joints in this link failed. I was able to find the exact part I needed on etrailer.com. Received it when promised, and it was exactly the same part as the original. It was a little tricky to get under the steps to install it, but I did, and the steps have worked flawlessly for a year since. I'm very happy with etrailer.

Part was delivered quickly and easily installed, took less than a hour to install
The motor timing has caused the double ball joint to break. Our repair shop said that the parts were going to take 4-6 to be received. I went on line looking for a replacement double ball joint. In two weeks over the Christmas holiday the part was delivered. The step is fixed and working well, 4 weeks sooner than expected. Great job eTrailer
Had a broken part for the step on my motorhome and could not find anywhere till finding on etrailer. Ordering was easy and shipment was quick as promised. The new part fit perfectly and has worked great for the last year. Judging by the quality I expect it to last for years to come.
The ball joint worked and repaired my motorhome step. The order was shipped the same day I ordered it. I have recently had the experience of a part I ordered was held for 5 days before being shipped. I chose ground shipment and not over night which was more expensive. Obviously, etrailer does not make money on shipping charges.
Typical for Kwiki to have some odd turn buckle bolt that adds complexity. What was not typical was etrailer and "Will's" incredibly fast service. When I looked online I was unsure of the exact replacement. Will walked through the info and made me feel good about the purchase. He asked when I needed it and I said now. I'll be damned if he didn't almost meet that request - I got the part in 19 hours and my steps came back to life. Kwiki for over engineered bolt = :( For Etrailer and super service = :).
I snapped bolt on my step ball joint, the old system had the bolt built into the ball and had to buy this one to replace it. It’s much better than the old one, it has a replaceable bolt running through the ball. Also needed it fast as I was hitting the road in 3 days, selected 2 day shipping and it showed up in the morning of the day before I was going to leave. It was a quick change out, took 10 minutes,
