Hey guys, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the JR products door latches. Door latches are designed so when you're traveling down the road and you get movement in the RV or camper, your drawers stay closed. You don't have to worry about the doors coming open, stuff falling out of your cabinets. So they're really going to work well to help keep the doors closed. Now, there are different types.
They have magnetic types, they have roller style, a lot of different types. These are actually going to be a very durable plastic. They have a little hook on the end here. And then this section here actually has a spring inside. So when that hook sits inside of there, this piece feeds inside of it and that's what holds your door closed. So as far as installing these, installing them is pretty simple and straightforward.
It's going to come with a Phillips head screws to attach the hook to the door. And then it's going to come with the keeper mechanism that attaches on the inside. It's also going to come with Phillips head screws. How these work is, the section on the door has a hook on it and you kind of see that notch. This side, the keeper here, actually there's a spring inside.
And this edge, what it does is when you close the door, that spring locks that inside of there. So that's what holds your door closed. And being spring loaded, once you close it it's going to stay closed unless you actually pull it open. So again, we're not going to have to worry about our drawer coming open or doors coming open when we're driving down the road.To start our installation we need to either remove our old latches or, if we're putting them on brand new, we need to determine where we're going to put them. In this case, we're going to be removing some broke ones so, Phillips screwdriver, we'll go ahead and remove those.
And the new kit comes with Phillips head screws, so.Now we're going to install the new door hook. If you're replacing one that was there, the one that was on here was a little bit smaller so you may not be able to use the same holes. What I found is easy, is if you kind of get this part here, you can take your new piece, it's going to hook on the bottom of the cabinet. Go ahead and put them together. And if you take your drawer and slide it in, you can take this, slide it in, slide it right up against the bottom of your edge where you're going to be mounting that plate. We'll slide it back out. So I think this one's going to line up with this hole here. Now we're going to repeat that part again, putting this on. I'm going to take some painters tape. Just slide it like that. Give me a general idea of where it's gonna mount on there. There's that. We're going to take a pen, mark each edge like that, and take another piece like this. Now I can take this bracket and mount it right in between those two pieces of tape and we know we're going to be lined up. Once we get it in between our tape, take our new hardware and we'll get that mounted and the bottom edge. Then you're going to repeat that same thing for each one. What you need to do, now we need to see if our door's going to close. Notice how it's hitting there. You can actually adjust. I'm going to loosen these just a little. We're going to slide it over and tighten them back down.Once you've made any adjustments necessary, repeat the process for any other latches you're going to be putting on any other drawers or doors and you're ready to go. If you're going to do it, for a look at JR products door latches.

Spring-loaded catch replaces the catch in your RV cabinet and keeps your cabinet door from swinging open on bumpy RV rides. Works on any style cabinet. Includes catch, strike and screws. These cabinet fasteners or drawer fasteners were better than the original equipment in my Fleetwood storm. I was so happy with them I ended up replacing all the drawer fasteners. These have been in my motorhome for over a year now and many trips and working great. Very happy
Just like the original equipment
All of the parts were delivered as described and are perfect matches to the originals in the rv.

Junk ....... Broke again after a short time. Changed to magnetic drawer closers.
Easy to install and after a year of moderate use it still looks great
Direct replacement, I do feel they're overpriced, not just etrailer but anywhere they are available

So happy with etrailer . If I had taken my tv to the shop it would have cost a fortune and they would have had it for months.

I will use etrailer going forward.
