Speaker 1: Today, we're going to take a look at the Dexter Single Axle Hydraulic Line Kit for drum brakes. Now, this kit is for Dexter drum brakes single axles. The brake line itself is a double flared steel tubing with the aluminum galvan coating so it's zinc plated inside and out. The special additional post-plating treatment will greatly extend the life of your product even further. Now, this kit will include everything laid out here on the table. It includes the steel line here. It's 3/16ths diameter by 180 inches.

Also includes this steel line. It's 3/16ths diameter by 72 inches. A smaller 3/16ths by 17.5 inches. It includes this 18 inch flexible hydraulic hose, hose bracket and hose clip to hold the hose onto. It comes with a 3/16ths axle T with a mounting bracket, the three of the line retaining clips, and three of the line retaining clip screws.

It comes with a 1/8th inch MPT by 3/16ths inverted flare adaptor, and a couple of line tie straps for the axle. Now, if this kit is used on torsion axles, it does require additional line kits, either number 80910 or 80910-T, or, if you want, you can even buy the complete deluxe complete kit for torsion axles. We sell it as part number 9579-2, but that should do it for the review on the Dexter Single Axle Hydraulic Line Kit for drum brakes.

Average Customer Rating:  4.4 out of 5 stars   (8 Customer Reviews)

I have ordered a complete hydraulic surge bake system for my tandem aluminum boat trailer, brake controller for my 2016 Tundra, electrical brake and light connectors, and various other parts and have always been totally satisfied with the products and the people at If you need assistance with anything, just call and they have techs to assist who know what your needs are and they are very helpful and courteous. Great people to do business with.

I like the "kit" packaging rather than trying to find each individual piece. The previous owner of this trailer had a much larger truck than I do and depended on that for brakes. He actually gutted/stripped the brake parts and I had to replace everything. The kit was great. I measured ahead of time and knew that the long hard line would be too short for my trailer and so was able to compensate using a coupling (or "union") and a flexible extension intended for a swing-away tongue.

I emailed back and forth with several people at etrailer and they answered all my questions with good information and in a timely manner.

The only annoyance was that the hard lines were curled and they looked bad and amateurish when I tried to straighten them out. I never really got them straight.

Was ok but should offer a longer version for longer trailers that have longer distance from actuator to axle. A bit stingy on the rapties only fast and product good.

this is good for 18 or less footer boat. my boat was 21 footer and was shorted by 35 inches.

Am very satisfied with my recent purchase. Customer service very helpful, went out of their way to get product details fo rme. Shipping was very fast and the prices were highly competitive

as always timely deliveries. All items were correct and in good shape.

  • Brake Line Length for the Lines in the Hydraulic Single Axle Line Kit # 9504
There are 3 brake lines included in the Hydraulic Line Kit, item # 9504. The longest is 180 inches, and the two that are designed to run from the T to each wheel are 30 inches and 72 inches long. Normally the hydraulic lines are ran down the left side of the trailer and the longer line is ran to the right side of the trailer. If the lines are too long, the line can be cut and flared with a double flaring tool or coiled, top down, to remove some of the length.

  • Brake Line Kit Recommendation and How to Pick Out Replacement Bearings for EZ Loader Trailer
For a single axle brake line kit you would want the Hydraulic Line Kit # 9504. To determine what wheel bearings the trailer needs you will want to remove the hubs and get the bearings out of the hubs and then get the numbers that are stamped on them. Or you can use a digital or dial caliper to get exact measurements of where the bearings ride on your spindle and that can help you determine which ones you would need.

  • Hydraulic Line Kit # 9504 Recommendation for Use with a Titan Coupler # T4839000
For a flexible brake hose kit I would recommend a Hydraulic Line Kit # 9504 to go with the Titan Trailer Coupler # T4839000 that you referenced. The # T4839000 does not come with any brake lines or fittings.

  • Brake Line for Hydraulic Disc Trailer Brakes on a Single Axle Trailer
Brake line kit # 9504 is one that we have listed for drum brake applications which have a lower psi rating than disc brakes. What I recommend is # DM5424 that works with drum or disc brakes. This means that the lines are rated for at least 1600 psi which is typical disc brake pressure. Quarter inch line is not available. If you need 1/4 inch steel line then most auto parts stores carry various kinds of brake line and you could inquire about diameter availability.

  • Does Dexter Hydraulic Brake Line Work With Demco Drum Brake Actuator DM8758521
Yes, the Hydraulic Line Kit - Single Axle - Drum # 9504 is indeed compatible and will work with the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator - Drum - Zinc - 12" Adjustable Channel Center - 8,000 lbs # DM8758521.

  • What Size Are The Threaded Ends on Dexter Axle Hydraulic Line Kit # 80910-T
I spoke with my technical contact at Dexter and he pulled one from the warehouse. The threads measure 3/16-20. This means that 3/16 is the screw size and 20 is the threads per inch. This hydraulic line kit can be used with either the Dexter Single Axle Drum Kit # 9504 or Dexter Hydraulic Tandem Axle Drum Kit # 9505. If you could let me know what part you have now that you are replacing, I would be more than happy to help.

  • Replacement Brake Assemblies and Brake Line for 3,500 Hydraulic Trailer Brakes
Do you by chance have a 3,500 ALKO axle 8500? Or an 8,500 lb axle? I believe you'd have the 3,500 lb axle but wanted to be sure. For 3,500 assemblies you'd want the part # AKFBBRK-35-D as replacing all of the individual parts you mentioned would end up costing more and be more labor intensive. For a brake line kit then we have the part # 9504 which would fit and work well.

  • Availability of Corrosion Resistant Brake Assemblies for Boat Trailer
Because electric brake assemblies like the self adjusting brake assembly part # AKEBRK-7L-SA are not typically used for boat trailers, the assemblies are not specially coated for saltwater corrosion resistance. Boat trailers usually use hydraulic brakes, and would use a hydraulic brake assembly like part # 42029 and # 42028. These assemblies are galvanized for corrosion resistance. To convert to hydraulic brakes, you would need a hydraulic coupler/actuator like part # 099-175-00....

  • Can Timbren Axle-Less Suspension be Used for a Boat Trailer/Marine Applications
You can use Timbren Axle-Less suspension for marine applications. But you would need 3500 pound kit # ASR3500S05. If attaching brakes you would need hydraulic brakes and not electric brakes. For a hub and drum assembly you could use # 8-247-50UC3-EZ which is a galvanized model for corrosion resistance. It has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern For compatible brake assemblies use # 23-312 for the left and # 23-313 for the right. Then you would need a brake actuating coupler, see link to the right...

  • Parts Needed To Convert Electric Drum Brakes To Hydraulic Disc Brakes On 5th Wheel Trailer
We do have a hydraulic disc brake kit that will fit 8 bolt hub, 8 on 6-1/2 Inch bolt pattern, 1/2 inch bolts. In addition to a hydraulic disk brake kit, you will also need a brake line kit, and a electric over hydraulic actuator, and a brake controller that is compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes. For a disc brake kit to replace your drum brake assembly, you will need the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit, part # K2HR712, which is designed for 7,000 lb axles, 16 Inch or larger wheels. This...
