Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and today we are taking a quick look at the replacement safety lever spring plate. This is going to be for your Demco hydraulic trailer brake actuator. And this is that little plate that holds your safety spring secure. So that's a mechanism that, in the case of an accidental disconnect, your trailer becomes separated from your coupler, it's going to pull the lever on your safety release and apply the brakes to your trailer. So this is what that safety lever sits on.

The catcher will be here, it's bolted down there. So it's going to have the mounting position for that piece.If your trailer happened to go through an accident where something happened to the spring plate, maybe your lever got pulled, and then it kind of smashed this down and you need a new one. Maybe it just wore out, got all rusty over time, and you need to replace it. Whatever the case might be. This is going to be a direct replacement from Demco for that piece.I'll give you some measurements just for reference to make sure that this is the right one for you, but it should fit a wide variety of Demco actuators, if not all of them.

So it's about three and three quarter inches long, and about an inch and a half, more like one and three eights inches wide. And then just about a 16th of an inch, or excuse me, more like an eighth of an inch thick. Our mounting holes, those each have a diameter of just about three eights of an inch center to center. They're spaced three quarters of an inch apart. And they're about, from the center of the mounting hole to the end of the plate, it's about a half inch.

And then we'll also have a slot cut out at bottom here, and that's just about seven sixteenths of an inch across, and goes in about a half inch, or about seven sixteenths deep. Excuse me, that's actually more like five sixteenths across, and seven sixteenths deep.It is made in USA, should last you a long time.
