Kit has everything I need to set up an electric brake controller on my 1992 W250. Installation instructions were clear and concise. Great product at a fair price.

I called e trailer to make sure I purchase the right wiring kit for my Ford E150.
The person on the phone spends 40 minutes with me to find out what I need. I explained my situation what parts I have and what I need. She ordered for me the parts. The Brakecontroller came and looks fine but this wiring kit she had send me does not work at all. the 10 gauge wire is to short. Ones again I Called Etrailer, and all I got as an answer is I can send it back or extend the wire. now I am stuck with a wiring kit for 40 something dollar what I have to extend and spend time to find the wire at a store. Very poor customer service and it looks like they don't know their product. I am very disappointed.

This is not a review of the product.

The
service was excellent. Since I had been sent the wrong cabling etrailer was very helpful in getting me the information necessary for me to return the parts I did not and to make sure I obtained the proper product in a timely manner.

Good work and thanks - Alan

All is well with your equipment and the trailer it was installed on Nothing new to add*

by:

etrailer products and service are excellent! With their helpful videos and staff (plus a little help from Curt Manufacturing and our teardrop trailer manufacturer (CampInn)) I was able to install electric brakes on the trailer, and a controller in my vehicle by myself. I had never installed electric brakes before. Everything works perfectly!

by:

The wiring cable that is supposed to come from the back is not long enough, this product is misleading to be used to connect the brake controller.

It really depends on the vehicle the controller is being installed on, which is why we point out the length of each piece of wire in the description. 20 feet is enough for most SUVs and trucks, but a large cargo van or trucks with 4 doors and an 8 foot bed may need more.

by:

The black/white bundled wire was not long enough for my 2015 Honda Fit, had to purchase another 8 feet to cover the length from back to front. Blue wire is longer and the instructions expect you will use it for the brake controller. This is certainly long enough at 20 ft but the 10ft wire is insufficient. Should have given you 20ft a piece for each.

by:

The quality of the wiring and connectors was very good. I experienced no problems with the connections or material. They functioned as intended and for the purpose I needed.

by:

Excellent company.
shipping was FAST!

and everything that was shipped was exactly as I ordered it.
everything worked and hooked up great.
Also they have great resources, such as wiring diagrams and install vids to help with assembly!
I strongly recommend this company for anyone doing work on their own trailer.

by:

Duplex wire isn't long enough for a 2022 Toyota Highlander. Save yourself the hassle I had and just spend the extra money on item # ETBC7. The connectors are cheap so upgrade those. You'll probably need more zip ties than included.

by:

product arrived quickly and was just what it said it was; and just what I needed to wire in my brake controller. Worked great.

by:

Great product and you can't beat etrailer.com's prices and fast shipping.

by:

Great kit for electric brake install!

  • What Parts Do I Need To Upgrade My 4 Flat To A 7 Way Connector And Use A Wireless Brake Controller?
It sounds like you are definitely on the right track here. You would plug the Adapter # C57672 into the existing 4 flat plug. Then the Kit # C51500 contains the rest of the wires you will need to run to upgrade to a 7 way. From there you will be ready to plug in and use a wireless brake controller like the # C51180. Since the Curt echo works off of the vehicles brake lights, technically you would only need to connect the 12v wire to the 7 way plug in order to use it. The additional wires...

If it connects to the factory connectors already on the back of your Xterra like the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118266, then you will only need the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # RED39FR. • How To Install Electric Trailer Brake Controller On 2020 Ford Transit T350
I do have trailer brake controller options for a 2020 Ford Transit T350 but there are no trailer brake controller wiring provisions. Therefore, you must hardwire the controller which involves running wires from the battery to the cab and then from the cab to the trailer connector. We offer kits for this exact purpose like the Curt Universal Wiring Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers part # C51500. This will then allow you to install any standard trailer brake controller like the Redarc Tow-Pro...

The easiest way to install your brake controller is going to be to run the blue wire of the controller back to the 7-way with ten gauge wire like our part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot). Trying to track down factory wiring on the older Dodge trucks can be a bit of a headache and this will bypass all of this. Or you could use just the # C51500 that comes with the wiring you would need to hardwire the brake controller to your vehicle. This comes with power and ground wires for the controller,...
