Hello neighbors, I'm Steven here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at this replacement ball and plate assembly for the Curt Friction Sway Control System. Now folks, this is gonna simply replace the trailer mount ball and plate assembly just like this guy here. Again, for the one that came with your Curt Friction style sway control system. Now that guy is sold separately. It's item number 17200, 17200.
Again, if you need that, it is sold separately. You also get the included clips here and the four mounting bolts to mount into the hole for installation. Now it has a very nice durable steel construction. It's a black powder coat finish. You can kind of see the shine there when I bring it through the lights and whatnot.
Now the distance between these mine holes, I was getting 2 5/16 of an inch, and that's any way that you measure that, 2 5/16 of an inch center on center. I weld rather than bolt these to my A-frames..the material is up to the application..etrailer is and has been the easiest fastest way to get the right components per my various applications.
It my second ball works good installation is easy make sure you use a good drill and bit

until we bought a new trailer and the Dealer swapped it out to our new camper and mounted it too close to the hitch.

Works well, but the installation was more difficult than anticipated. Pilot holes are a must if you are to get this done efficiently & neatly. Self-drilling screws without pilot holes are tough.
I just want to commend the etrailer team on a job well done.
They only had half of my order that I needed in 2 days and went above and beyond to make it happen.
The attention to detail and ever-important communication will bring me back for future purchases.
