I am trying to replace a Husky part trailer mounted sway control ball. Are all the balls in the industry the same size?

Yes, for friction sway control bars such as # 83660, # 17200, or any of the similar options the ball size used is the same (1-1/4") so you will be able to use replacement ball and plate # C17201.

I went out to the warehouse to inspect the hardware included with Reese friction sway control #83660. The hex head self tapping screws will take a 5/8 inch socket.
