Question:
I have the Curt Friction Sway Control for Weight Distribution Systems Item # 17200 2 of the 4 screws bolting it onto the frame of the trailer and I had to drill them out to 3/8. I need to go 1 size bigger them 3/8inch with a self tapping or thread cutting screw. I need help finding out what size and availability to solve this problem. Also the trailer is a 27foot snowmobile trailer. Would it help by adding a second sway bar to take some of the pressure off the just 1 so these bolts dont snap again or does it not matter for that fact? Your help would be extremely appreciated. Thank You

The Curt Friction Sway Control # 17200 referenced in your question includes six 3/8 x 12 x 1 inch self-tapping screws. We also have the Replacement Ball and Plate Assembly # C17201 available that includes 4 replacement screws.
If you are having issues with the screws breaking, then installing a second Sway Bar # 17200 is definitely a good idea. In addition to the tension that seems to be being put on the system, Curt does recommend two bars whenever a trailer is 26 feet or longer. Since your snowmobile trailer is at 27 feet in length, this will be the best application.
