Recommended Gooseneck Pin Box for a Grand Design Reflection to Replace a Lippert 1116 Pin Box

Updated 01/19/2026 | Published 12/28/2025

Question:

Is this pin box approved for use with Grand Design Reflection 5th wheel. More specifically a 320mks? There has been discussions that the Geny goose box was not approved . Thanks for your response.

Hey Richard. The MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box like item # MR27MV has not been approved for use by Grand Design. It does not fall under their 5-year limited towable frame warranty that applies to the 2020 and newer 5th wheel trailers or Lippert's one year chassis warranty.

The only gooseneck style pin box that is approved are the Reese Goose Boxes like item # RP94716-61301, which also fits a Lippert 1116 bolt pattern.

If you would like a recommendation on what goosebox you need for your Grand Design, I'll need the information on the sticker that's attached to your current pin box. The sticker should say date of manufacture and have some form of RPO, LCI, or serial number on it. If you could email me a picture of it or carefully put all that information where it says Reply to Jerred H, I can find the right gooseneck pin box for you. Also if yours says Turning Point or Rhino Box on it let me know because those bolt patterns are easy to identify replacements for.

You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them. If you're emailing me a picture go ahead and send it directly to the address you receive this response from.

Hey Richard, did you get a chance to check the sticker on your current pin box to see which bolt pattern it uses? Once you have that info, it’ll be easier to confirm which Reese Goose Box will fit your Reflection. Let me know what you find—I can help narrow it down.

@JerredH. Hi Jerred, thanks for checking back in. I have not checked on the specific pin box on my unit. I was more wanting to know if with the design of the new goose hitch by moryde was it designed with the Lippert frames in mind. It seems petty that GD specifically prohibits the GenY as "could cause" damage instead what actually caused the damage. I have not read any data that suggests GenY goose hitches have damaged any frames

@RichardC You're welcome. Gen-Y said almost the exact same thing when they were here last fall and mentioned not having claims denied by Lippert based on installation or use of their gooseneck pin boxes. MoRryde states that there's are not approved though.
