Upgrade the factory pin box on your fifth-wheel trailer to this cushioned model that dampens road shock and reduces back-and-forth chucking for a more relaxed towing experience. Unlike air bags, the internal rubber spring requires no maintenance.

Most standard pin boxes are constructed of steel and are built with the sole purpose of connecting your fifth-wheel trailer to your tow vehicle. There is no cushioning built in, so a factory pin box doesn't do anything to provide a comfortable ride when you're hauling your fifth-wheel trailer.
This MORryde pin box, however, is built with an internal rubber spring that absorbs road shock and vibration at the connection point. So if you're driving on unpaved roads or uneven pavement, this pin box will prevent any road shock and vibration you encounter from transferring from your tow vehicle to your fifth-wheel trailer and vice versa. In other words, the rubber spring takes the brunt of the impact so you and your towing setup don't have to. And because this unit uses a rubber spring instead of an internal air bag like some other upgraded pin boxes, there's no maintenance required.
The internal rubber shear spring in this pin box is optimized for trailers that range from 18,001 lbs to 23,000 lbs to ensure that it provides just the right amount of shock absorption for your application. If this pin box were to be used on a larger trailer, the spring would be too stiff to provide enough cushion. And if your trailer's GVWR was less than 18,000 lbs, then the spring would be too flexible to provide adequate support.
Chucking, the back-and-forth jerking movement you feel in your cab when towing, occurs most frequently during starts and stops and while making turns. A typical, factory pin box creates a rigid connection without much give. So when a harsh stop occurs, all of the trailer's forward momentum gets forced through that stiff connection, slamming the king pin in the hitch and jerking your truck around.
To combat this, glide pads are built into the MORryde pin box that allow the skid plate to shift up to 3" forward and backward and 1-1/2" side to side to compensate for some of that violent motion so that you don't have to feel it in your cab.
This MORryde pin box is a direct replacement for your existing Lippert 1621SHD pin box, so the installation is very straightforward. After removing your old Lippert pin box, the MORryde can be mounted into place using the same hardware and bolt holes used by the factory pin box.
Because of the weight of the unit, you'll want a couple of friends to help you lift it into place during installation. Once the hardware is securely bolted down, you'll be ready to go.

This pin box arrived on time and the box was in very good condition. The freight company used their lift gate to put the pallet into the bed of my pickup. That made it possible for this 63 year old to uninstall the old and install the new single handedly.
My main complaint with the old pin box was chucking. I’ve now towed more than a thousand miles with the Morryde. While the chucking has improved it has not been eliminated. I would say it has been reduced about 50%. Bridge abutments are less harsh. Concrete roadway gallop much improved. A significant improvement but not what I had hoped for based on other reviews.
I installed this today on my Grand Design Reflection 303. Talking with rep they recommend the 1621HD. I kinda think I should have gotten the lighter unit. My 303 GVWR is 11995 lbs. the HD is good heavier units.
I still helps, I towed it today and I noticed some improvement. I would consider getting the lighter unit if I had it to do again.
We recently purchased a new camper from an individual who had added a gooseneck adapter. We purchased the MORryde cushioned pin box and took it with us when we picked up the camper - we changed it out in the driveway in about one hour. The ride home was very smooth. We have some rough bridge transitions in our area and the MORryde handled them with ease.
I have had this pin box before on other campers and loved it so when we got our new camper this was the first upgrade that I wanted.
A tip to an easy install, lock it in your hitch first then back it right into your camper. I shored up the head with a 2x4.

Excellent 5th Wheel Pin. We can't even feel the RV behind us.
Replaced the stock Rotoflex pin box on my 2020 GD Momentum toyhauler. What a difference! No more chucking and the ride is so smooth it's easy to forget I'm pulling 20K lbs. Easy to install with a little help.
Great ride when pulling my camper takes out almost all the chucking. Highly recommended.

Its working great there is very little chucking felt compared to the factory hitch.
Replaced my RotoFlex with this unit because I had some bothersome jerking when stopping, and really bad at times when starting. I had this problem since bought trailer in 2017. I only recently discovered it was a combination of my Curt Q25 and the rotoflex. It was dealer installed and they never read the fine print on the Curt Q25 that states not compatible with rotoflex. I only recently discovered this when I was looking in the Curt manual to see if there was something I should check for the issue and came across the Note. It should be a big warning. I checked and found that the MORryde was a direct fit and had very good reviews. I do recommend using new bolts, nuts and cinch washers. Well, I changed today and drove 25 miles in town and on expressway, BIG difference. I would recommend to anyone looking to upgrade to a quality unit.
Installed this MORryde cushioned pin box on a 20K# toyhauler(from a solid pin). Comparing 9K miles before and 11K miles after, it made a remarkable improvement in the ride, especially on choppy, rough roads (think I-40 across New Mexico). Easy bolt-on installation. I consulted with the staff @ etrailer.com to ensure the correct hitch model was selected. Shipping was straight forward via truck freight. Excellent communication through the process.

I have not installed this part on my 2021 momentum 395MSR yet, but it was received in perfect condition. I had the same pin box on my Solitude390RKR and loved the way it handled. If the part does not perform as expected once installed and after I have some miles behind it i'll update my review.
