This hitch takes the stress out of tight turns with its automatic sliding design. As you turn, the head glides smoothly on metal tubes for up to 14" of clearance, moving toward the tailgate so your trailer stays clear of the cab, then slides back when you straighten out. There are no gears or small parts to jam—just low-friction plates doing the work so you can stay in the driver’s seat and focus on towing.
Rated for heavy fifth wheels, this setup handles a gross towing weight of 20,000 lbs and a vertical load limit of 5,000 lbs. The solid steel construction is powder coated and e-coated for corrosion resistance, giving you confidence to haul demanding trailers trip after trip. It’s tested to SAE J2638 standards so you can count on consistent strength and performance under load.
The precisely laser-cut wraparound jaw locks automatically once the king pin is in place. That single-hook design gives full contact around the pin for a tight, rattle-free connection compared to basic slide-bar jaws. The self-locking hitch plate makes coupling straightforward—no extra steps, no guessing if it’s latched.
To help keep the ride comfortable and level, the dual-pivot head moves both front-to-back and side-to-side. That motion eases hookup and helps limit chucking as you travel down the road. With an overall hitch height of 18-1/2", it offers dependable bed clearance for balanced towing.
Even with a base weight of 187 lbs, this hitch is designed so you can separate the 43 lb removable hitch plate from the base when it’s time to clear out your bed. Breaking it down into lighter pieces makes storage and handling more practical when you’re not towing.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at the PullRite SuperGlide 5th-Wheel Hitch for your short-bed truck. Now, this 5th-wheel hitch is going to mount in your truck bed by attaching to the industry-standard above-bed rails, which are sold separately, so that you can tow your 5th-wheel trailer. Let me give you just a brief view of where this is going to connect. So, you're going to get this hardware, so this will slide into the slot inside of your rails and then you'll just secure it with the included pins and clips, so it's going to be pretty easy to get that into place on your rails that you currently have inside the bed of your truck. Now, this does have a gross towing weight of 20,000 pounds and a vertical load limit of 5,000 pounds.
The total weight of this unit is right about 220 pounds or so. The base is about a little over 170, and the head is going to be a little over 40 pounds. So, all that to say, this is going to be a lighter-weight option compared to some of the other heavier auto-slide options that are out there from other manufacturers. So, because this is a lighter weight option physically to lift, it's gonna be easier to get this installed into the bed of your truck, easier than some of those other heavier options from other manufacturers that are auto-sliders. Now, as I mentioned, this does feature an automatic slider that's going to let you safely make turns with your short-bed truck, so you're not gonna have to worry about getting into and out of your truck to operate a manual slider.
So, let me give you a brief demonstration of this from that angle first. So, I do have this loosened up a little bit just so I can easily show you the sliding action, as you can see. So, very easy, very smooth operation. Lemme give you an overhead look there so you can see a little bit better. So, this is designed to allow your truck to turn up to 90 degrees to your trailer.
Now, other variables do come into play, such as trailer width, and squared off or rounded corners and the location of the potential point of trailer-to-cab contact. But as you can see, the head is going to slide toward the tailgate, and then when you're straightening out, it's going to slide back towards the cab when you're straightening out that turn, just like that. So, no, there's no gears or easily breakable parts. What you have here, and you're not gonna be able to see it of course, but we have something like a tube here that's going to slide down these rails here depending on which way you're turning, so that's really nice. You don't have gears or small parts to worry about maintaining.
It's really gonna be little maintenance at all with this. So, you're gonna get a travel of 14 inches front to back, and this has a total height of about 18 1/2 inches. I do wanna point out that a capture plate is going to be required for this SuperGlide, and the plate is, as you probably know, is attached to your trailer's skid plate, so when you're hooked up into your SuperGlide Hitch and ready to tow, that capture plate's gonna isolate the rotation of your trailer's kingpin in this hitch, so movement and rotation is then transferred to the automatic cam action of the SuperGlide Hitch, moving it away from the cab along its rails to prevent the trailer from contacting the cab of your truck. So, let me give you another overhead look here and just give you a brief demonstration of our self-locking hitch plate here. So, I do have a kingpin here to demonstrate just how easily this is going to couple. This is ready to receive the kingpin, so lemme just slide this into place here. (kingpin clacks) So, as you can see, that's going to automatically locked just like that. Now, the jaw is going to close and that handle's going to, as I mentioned, lock automatically when that kingpin's in place, and then I'm gonna go ahead and just release this, and I wanna just point out, hopefully you can see that there, the precisely laser-cut jaw and of course, that wraparound jaw creates less rattle, it's going to offer more security than slide-bar jaws. And then let me, I'll go back to my wide view here, show that to you again, watch the handle. (kingpin clacks) So, it's gonna be very easy to couple. You can slide a padlock through here if you would like to lock this into place so someone just can't come by and uncouple this from your kingpin. So, very easy to hook this up. It's dual-articulating head, so that's going to help make hookup easier. It's gonna help limit chucking. It pivots front to back and side to side. And this is made here in the USA of American steel. It has a black powder coat finish to protect it from rust and corrosion. So, PullRite makes all of their products with a high-quality American steel, so this is gonna hold up really well for you. So, again, I'm a big fan of how this actually slides by itself and the way that PullRite was able to engineer that. And so because of the way that they've engineered this, again, this is gonna be a lighter-weight option to install other those heavier ones, and it's really going to be a great and essential benefit for you if you're towing 5th-wheel trailers with a short-bed truck. So, great item here by PullRite, and again, 20,000 pounds for the gross towing weight, 5,000 pounds for the vertical load limit. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

Delivered quickly via Estes box truck. Easy to assemble. I have the factory installed gooseneck fifth wheel hitch prep package in my Ford F350. Installation was relatively simple. Just had a play around and get the pucks lined up with a post perfectly and then it dropped right in place. definitely recommend watching YouTube on the pole right super glad hitch. It will help you adjust it properly. Great all around. Extremely happy with a hitch and extremely happy with etrailer.
I am a BIG fan of PullRite and the SuperGlide product. I bought this PUL28RR (2300 hitch with hardware for Ram HD factory bed prep). I installed it this weekend and it is definitely a two person job. My complaint with this setup is that unlike other SuperGlide hitches, there are tools required (3/4" wrench and 3/4" ratchet) if you want to temporarily remove the hitch to use the bed space. On top of that, the special brackets that fit the pre-formed slots in the Ram truck bed are "permanently" fastened because they utilize castle nuts and cotter pins to install them. The cotter pins are heavy duty and will require a great deal of strength to install and/or remove. I haven't towed with it yet but I'm positive it's more hitch than I need for my Montana High Country fifth wheel which is only about 14k pounds loaded. I appreciate the level of quality in the hitch, I just wish it were easier to remove the few times a year I need all of my truck bed.
I'm New to Fifth wheel systems but so far it looks really strong
Still waiting on a capture plate to use it!
Box was shipped upside down. Loose small parts in box. Nothing damaged or missing. Easy ordering. Delivered on time.
Love the unit. Built well and looks amazing. The instructions was very instructional and simple. I installed the hitch in 30 minutes. That’s assembling the puck inserts and setting the unit in. I haven’t towed with it yet but looking forward to it.
Easy to order and quick delivery. Easy to install (less than an hr)
my 76 year young wife and my 76 year old body unwrapped, assembled, and installed this hitch in 1.5 hours. tomorrow we tackle the hitch plate installation. the most difficult part of the install was lining up the hold down levers with the bed pucks. photos will follow when the job is complete. so far this is looking like a great investment.
My hitch arrived in perfect condition, The box wasn’t ripped or damaged at all The hitch was very easy to assemble everything for installation.
300 lbs of slow and frustrating install when you are doing it alone. First catch plate was incorrect. Had to return and order the correct plate.
Once I got install attempting to hook up it would not fully lock.
I was hopeful but completely disappointed. I recommend finding something else.
So far so good after multiple trips. It is heavy, I used a overhead winch to load it in the bed, but it is solid. I don't think about turning, near full 90 degree turns and you don't even notice its working, always had PullRite hitches, great products and etrailer had great pricing and shipping!
Quick shipping and while I've only towed with it once so far, it seems to work just as advertised. Was a bit tight the first usage, but after lubricating it with WD40, and learning to raise the pin box to the right height, it started latching better. Overall, I believe this hitch will live up to it's reputation.
Works great in my new Ram 3500 mega cab short box.
Only problem was one of the bolts provided was not machined correctly. E trailer did offer me a refund for the bolt I had to purchase. Assembly and install was less than 2 hrs. Including the trip to the hardware store. Good job E trailer! Love your costumer service.
I've been pulling my 5th wheel around with this slider hitch for a year now and it has worked perfectly. It fit right into my truck and has not given me any problems. I recommend this hitch to anyone who has a short bed with pre-installed receivers for the hitch.
Eat your wheaties and call a friend before trying to install it! It’s a heavy beast but well made. It would be nice if Pullrite offered the 16k and 20k hitches with Ram prep towing set up for puck system without having to use a puck conversion rail. 24k is way overkill and expensive for 12k 5th wheel! With that said, I will never use a fixed 5th wheel hitch in a short bed PU again! The performance of the Super slide is outstanding and solid. Took it to a parking lot with the 5th wheel hooked up to test turns, turn radius, bed/tailgate/ sidewall clearances and it performs flawlessly!! Pleasantly surprised by the performance and expectations exceeded for clearance concerns. A trip down the interstate around town was solid and very stable. Very pleased with overall performance! Would highly recommend for anyone hauling with a 6 1/2 foot bed. It will save you the cost of body work and replacement of a rear window! Happy Trails!!
Great product, easy shipping. Hitch recieved with no problems. Went with local etrailer recommended installer. Thanks Jerry, from Vere Inc., Saxonbburg, PA.
Note: Clearance on both rear mount puck handles will touch fender wells when removing / install hitch.
Easy install and hookup fit the 2015 F250 Puck system perfectly.
This thing is a beast! Very well made and, of course, very heavy duty. It came packaged securely on a pallet. It is very heavy, so it has to be shipped by freight. Mine was "misplaced" by the carrier for almost 3 weeks but it finally arrived. That was the only disappointment with the purchase and it wasn't etrailer's fault so I am still giving 5 stars.
