Switching a Curt A20 for Ford OEM Puck System to a Ford Without Puck System

Updated 03/20/2026 | Published 03/19/2026

Question:

I’m selling a Grand Design Reflection 150 with a Curt A20 that was in a 2022 F-250 with puck system. The buyer has a 2024 F-250 XLT without puck system. I have the Curt A20 with puck designed legs to in. What puck install kit does buyer need for 2024 F-250? Thanks Jarrod

Jarrod, you’re thinking about this exactly the right way, and I like that you’re trying to make it a smooth handoff for the buyer. Since your Curt A20 worked in a 2022 F-250 with the factory puck system, that means you’ve got the puck-style version of the hitch, so it is designed to fit a Ford OEM puck layout.

For the 2024 F-250 without the prep package, the buyer would need an underbed kit that recreates that same puck system. The Reese 30180 is the correct style for that and would let your A20 drop in just like it did before. The only issue is that Reese has discontinued that kit, so it can be tough to find and it's a lot of drilling into the bed.

Because of that, the easier and more reliable route is to convert the hitch to industry standard rails. That just means swapping the legs on your A20 to rail-style legs part # C16906, and then installing a rail kit in the 2024 truck part # PUL99RR. It’s a straightforward setup, readily available, and still gives a solid, secure connection.

What do you enjoy most about your Reflection 150, weekend state parks, long hauls, or boondocking? and what made the A20 your go-to hitch for those plans?
