Question:
you answered a question I had about an under bed rail kit setup for my reese elite hitch on a 1991 ford f350. I really appreciate your help and insight and I might do exactly as you suggested but I was just curious if you have any insight on what I might be able to do to adapt a underbed rail system to fit my truck with the reese elite hitch? I'm fairly mechanical and have an extensive background in metal fabrication and welding etc. So I have no problem adapting one for a custom setup. If you know of a good rail system to start off from that is gonna require the least amount of fabricating that would be super helpful. Thanks again for your time and help. Kindly,

There is not an underbed system from Reese that will function like the Reese Elite puck style system on your 1991 Ford F-350 long bed. However, there is one system that will work similarly that uses an underbed gooseneck and a compatible 5th wheel hitch to give you that clean bed option.
The system I recommend for your application is the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs, # BWRVK3500-5W used with the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches, # BWGNRK1110-5W. This system gives you the best of both worlds. It will allow you to use a gooseneck ball for gooseneck trailers and will allow you to install a great quality 5th wheel hitch to tow your 5th wheel, yet allows you a clean bed when neither system is in use. This is a custom fit for your truck and it only requires one large hole in your bed for the ball and a few smaller holes for the spring loaded chain hooks.
This underbed gooseneck can also be used with other standard 5th wheel hitches by using the Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitches - 20,000 lbs, # 16310. This will give you a standard set of above bed rails compatible with most hitches and is completely removable for a clean bed when not in use.
I've attached some videos for you of these products.
