I wanted to be able to easily utilize my truck bed and this hitch provides that in spades! Easy to remove and install. I absolutely have to give a shout out to Paula on customer service. She was amazing! My first shipment was damaged and missing a vital part. Paula had another one shipped right away and made my return shipment a breeze. She stayed in contact with me to the end. I felt like she shared in my joy once the install was complete! The hitch is super adjustable for optimal placement in the bed and height of the trailer. Make a few quick measurements and it just goes together quickly. Love the dual jaw release lever. This part of the installation is easy. There are two main pieces. Fasten runners on the bottom of each of the two legs that sit in the bed grooves. Attach the large square pin that goes in the hole in the bed to the main base(there are several bolting patterns depending on where you want the 5th wheel assembly to sit in the bed) and set it in place. Item is heavy even without the upper part (5th wheel plate assembly). Best done by two people. 5th wheel plate assembly also heavy, but can be handled by one person. I would like to say that I was not looking forward to putting this hitch on my truck. I heard nothing but nightmares and horror stories, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. I had a friend come over to help (glad I did cause that turnoverball hitch would have been a bear to hold up by yourself. It was ten times easier than I would have imagined. Just follow the instructions and it's a piece of cake. We had the turnover all hitch on in less than 2 hours. Unfortunately I had a rusted brake line that I had to repair before completing the job. My only issue is they should supply hard washers and better quality lock washers. 2 of them bent so bad I had to remove them and file the heads to get the huge burrs off to tru to seat another one. If you supply high strength bolts you need to supply a higher grade lock washer it it just tears up the power coat . 866306

The only thing you can do is remove it and install the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck # BWGNRK1059-5W for a Silverado 1500, # BWGNRK1067-5W for a 2500, or # BWGNRK1062-5W for a 3500 8 foot bed.

The factory puck system that was available for your 2017 Ram 2500 is integrated into the frame and cannot be installed as an aftermarket part. There are some underbed mounted fifth wheel hitch install kits but as of right now none of them install a puck system. The included foot pads of that come with the B and W Companion Hitch # BWRVK3500-5W are designed to be used regardless if there is corrugation on the truck bed or not. The shape of them does allow them to fit in corrugation if needed which is nice. If you weren't to use them the hitch wouldn't make contact with the truck bed to support the load of the trailer. What you described sounds like chucking. Chucking is the sound you are describing that comes from the moving parts of the hitch. When you start and stop the play moves back and forth and causes the sound you are hearing.
Since you are using a fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter it's not overly surprising that you are having issues with chucking.

The factory puck system was not offered on Ford trucks until 2011 so what you have is likely the older Reese Signature Series which is very similar. However, as you have come to find out the old Reese Signature Series pucks are not the same as the new Reese Elite Series pucks which is why you are having issues. Hey Richard. When you say 30klb rollover, do you mean the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch like item # BWGNRK1012?

Essentially the factory Ford fifth wheel rail system is a Reese rail kit, but Reese doesn't sell the rail kit for your truck and the only way to get it would be directly through Ford. Curt does offer a fifth wheel hitch that fits that rail kit directly though with the A20 part # C16034.

Hey Jason, nice truck! Yes, the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Air Helper Springs # F2709 are compatible with the B&W Turnoverball # BWGNRK1020. You can install both on your 2027 Sierra 2500 without the mounting brackets interfering with each other.

The B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3500-5W should have long plastic foot pads that fit into the slats of a corrugated bed, but there should not be the need of any other kind of pad. With that said, the long plastic foot pads should be used even if the base looks to be sitting properly. These limit/prevent side to side and front to back movement so not all the weight and stress are on the gooseneck hitch. view full answer...

This is by far the best fifth wheel hitch I have ever used and I have used several. It’s very easy to hitch and unhitch and I don’t have to be perfectly lined up to hitch and unhitch. I highly recommend this product.
