Question:
I’d like a flat tow set up for motorhome to jeep wrangler. My rv has a 4 way flat wire plug in. Is that ok or will that need an upgrade. Gonna purchase the blue ox brand.

Hey, Skip!
Happy to help get your new Jeep set up for flat towing. There is going to be a list of parts, so I'll go ahead and list them all below for ya.
Blue Ox Base Plate: Part # BX1139
Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar: Part # BX7420
Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking System: Part # DM86VR
Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit: Part # RM-751490
Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles: Part # RM-156-25 (to keep your battery charged while flat towing)
Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit: Part # RM-15267 (If you do NOT have the Jeep ParkSense feature)
Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit: Part # RM63MR (If you DO HAVE the Jeep ParkSense feature)
For the RV side you will need to convert your 4-flat to a 7-way plug. I'll list those parts below.
Universal Installation Kit 7-Way RV: Part # ETBC7
Deka Jacketed 2 Wire: Part # 10-2-1 (The kit above only comes with 25 ft. of this wire, so you will need more to reach the front of your RV. It's always best to get more than what you need.)
Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes: Part # RM-156-75
I know it's a long list of parts, so if you have any questions about any of them you can reply below with any of your questions. Below is also a picture of a tech bulletin from Roadmaster about how to ID if you have ParkSense or not. The pictures are from 2021, so your lights may not be exactly the same, but it will give you a good idea.
Have you flat towed before, or is this your first venture into it?"

I bought and use this brake with a Honda CRV behind my Class A and am very happy with it. It works off the car battery so you'll want to take a wire off one of your hot wires in your RV plug and run it under the hood to keep voltage charge on your car battery while towing. Use a diode on the wire so voltage from your car battery doesn't go backwards to RV. Easy to do. One other thing the first time I apply brakes after re-hooking up the car the brake surges a bit on first application of brakes because it is settling in. No worries. Smooth after that.
