Is There an Adapter to Mount the Ultimate Trailer Jack to a Side Mount Bracket on Trailer?

Hello. I just purchased the ultimate trailer Jack from tractor supply and removed my side Jack from my trailer. In the instructions it has a picture of it being able to be side mount. What’s the part number of the assembly/adaptor so I can have it as a side mount instead of the top mount? Thanks in advance.

Hey Mario, thanks for reaching out!

Congrats on your new purchase of the Ultimate Trailer Jack # 322-RDJ-2K! There aren't any adapter mounts to make this so it mounts on the bracket you're pointing out in your photo, so if you want a jack to install there, we'll need to get you setup with a whole new jack.

For a trailer jack that mounts on the bracket I recommend the Round Snap Ring Swivel Jack w/ Footplate # TJB-2002-B. It has similar specs to the Ultimate Trailer Jack, and it comes with all of the mounting parts for your trailer. You'll just discard the included weld-on mounting plate and use snap-ring pliers to install this jack.

Is the jack being mounted on the tongue getting in the way of your hatch opening or something like that?

@JonG Good morning Jon. I used to have a side mount round pin mount Jack on my trailer. Where I’m pointing on the picture, is where my old Jack was and I loved it. One, being mounted on the side and out of the way not worried about tailgate issues. Two, the convenience of just pulling the pin and swivel it vertical for work or horizontal for stow was awesome. Just as the TJB-2002-B does. Now, the 322-RDJ-2K being top mount and also a quick release pin has its pros and cons. Pros: quick release pin for quicker work or stow. Not having to crank as much to adjust. Some vehicles are sitting higher off the ground and requires more cranking. With the RDJ-2K it will get you there quicker. Cons: for it being too mount, it gets in the way of some tailgates when wanting to open it. Yes, you can adjust the Jack by lowering it to the ground as far as it can adjust but who wants all that. Also, the feel of the mechanism inside the Jack feels a bit weak and wobbles a bit when adjusting. But it does its job and holds its weight. Some hitches are longer than others giving you the extra length away from the tailgate so no need to adjust the Jack. All in all, I am very satisfied with the top mount jack and probably go with a side mount later in the future when this one needs to be replaced.
