Low Profile Trailer Jack Recommendation for Better Tailgate Clearance

Question:
Hello I have a 4 foot wide Haulmark Cargo Trailer. It has a Crank Handle on it that can and has done damage to my tailgate when it is open. Can I replace this crank handle with one that swings down or some other option to avoid damageing my tailgate again

Sounds like you are looking for a lower profile jack for your trailer so that the tailgate of the vehicle does not interfere with it.
I went to our warehouse and was able to locate an a-frame jack that measured less than 12 inches from the bracket up.
The Bulldog Round A-Frame Jack, # BD155032, comes in just under 11-1/2 inches which included the handle. I have attached a picture to illustrate the measurement. This a-frame jack has a lift capacity of 5,000 pounds and mounts to any standard a-frame coupler. If you would like a footplate for the jack, Bulldog offers the Detachable Footplate, # BD018564.
Another solution you have would be to go with a longer ball mount so that the tailgate will fall in front of the jack. If you email me back with amount of rise/drop your current ball mount has I can see what we have that would work.

That is excellent information. I hope it is ok because I am a different Customer than the one who originally asked this question, but I too am struggling to find a Jack that will allow my tailgate to open. My tailgate is 26 inches from the bottom of the tailgate to the ground. To level the trailer, it must be 15 inches off the ground at the tongue when hitched to the truck. It looks like the Bulldog Round A-Frame Jeck is almost perfect, but slightly too close for comfort. Is there any chance that you have something that would be even smaller from the bracket up? Perhaps 9” from the bracket up. I don’t mind if I have to put a block of wood under the jack in order to get enough height off the ground. My typical tongue weight is between four and 500 pounds. The jack I have now is a standard triangular mounting plate with three bolts. It would be wonderful if the handle were removable without the use of tools and I could use a drill to power it up and down. Thanks so much for your consideration! PS - I do not want to have to mount a jack on just one side of the A-frame, because I believe that could cause the A-frame to bend or warp over time.
