Masterbuilt Cargo Carrier Recommendation for a 1-1/4 inch Hitch Receiver
Updated 08/23/2013 | Published 08/20/2013 >
Question:
Am I correct in understanding that this comes with STRAIGHT 1-1/4inch or 2inch shafts or that I can purchase a 2inch offset shaft? What I want is a 1-1/4inch offset shaft. Is that an option? thanks,

The Sportrack cargo carrier bag that you referenced has the external dimensions of 60 inches long by 19 inches wide and is 16 inches tall. Unfortunately we do not have a cargo carrier that is compatible with a 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver that can accommodate a cargo bag up to 60 inches long.
If by offset you mean a rise in the shank of the cargo carrier the largest cargo carrier that has a rise in the 1-1/4 shank is the Curt Cargo Carrier # C18110. The dimensions of this cargo carrier are 48 inches long by 20 inches wide. It also has 3-1/4 inch rise in the shank, and has a maximum weight capacity rating of 300 pounds. The hitch and pin are included with this cargo carrier.
This carrier will fit both Class I and Class II 1-1/4 inch hitches, and the hitch pin and clip are compatible with 1-1/4 inch hitches. Class I hitch manufacturers have designed the Class I hitches to only be compatible with Class I hitch accessories. It is possible that your 1-1/4 inch hitch is a Class I or Class II, either way this cargo carrier will work great for you. This is another reason why there is not a cargo carrier available for the dimensions of the Sportrack cargo bag that you referenced. The hitch capacities of Class I and Class II hitches cannot support the maximum weight that a 60 inch cargo carrier is rated for carrying.
When using a hitch (either for towing or for accessories) you do not want to exceed the weight rating of the lowest rated component within the system. For example if the tongue weight of your hitch is rated for 200 pounds and the cargo carrier is rated for 300 pounds then the hitch rating of 200 pounds is the lowest rated component.
If you would like a cargo bag that is compatible with this Curt cargo carrier I recommend the etrailer Cargo Bag # e98990. The dimensions of this cargo bag are 40 inches long by 20 inches wide. This cargo carrier holds up to 9 cubic feet.
We do not carry Masterbuilt Cargo Carriers but I have included links to the products recommended above, and a video demonstrating the cargo bag that I have recommended for you. I have also included a couple of helpful articles that describe the differences in hitch receiver sizes and different types of hitch mounted cargo carriers for your reference.
