Recommended 7000lb Leaf Springs To Replace Dexter 072-027-00

Question:

I have a tandem axle fifth wheel equipment with 7000lb dexter axlesaxle stamp is 132012960 Im in need of replacement leafs dexter part number 072-027-00. Do you carry such a beast?

I do have an option for you, but we do not carry the Dexter 072-027-00 you mentioned.

However we do have the etrailer Double-Eye Spring for 7,000-lb Trailer Axles - 24-7/8" Long # e64SR which will be 3/8" shorter but that is still close enough for it to be used without messing up the suspension geometry.

Samuel, I am also in need of a Dexter PN 072-027-00 but I ordered the etrailer replacement e64SR. I want to have one on hand in case of an emergency. With the 3/8" variance, is it gonna be ok to replace just one? I know the ideal situation would be to replace both sides of the axle. Will replacing just one cause any problems? Thanks!

@WaltA You should never replace just one leaf spring, even if the same length. As a spring gets older they get flatter which makes them longer, and they will never be exactly the same. Always replace both at the same time. Now if you had one on hand to get you back on the road to immediately get to a place to replace the other one, that's one thing. But you won't be able to replace just the one and never replace the other.
