Does the Band Around the Spring Pack Go Forward When Installing Leaf Springs?
Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 10/03/2025 >
Question:
On the 4 leaf springs there is a band on one end, does that band go to the trailer front end or on the back end ?

Hey Andrew. What direction the band is on doesn't matter with leaf springs like the 25-1/4" Long 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring item # EM48RB. It can go on either side because this spring is centered. The only reason you'd be concerned about the direction of a double-eye leaf spring is if one sides short.
What you would want to do is measure the distance from the center of the spring eye on one end of the spring to the center of the spring and then to the center of the back spring eye. The on center distance should be equal. If one side is longer than the other then the shorter side should be positioned forward.
What length and capacity leaf springs are you looking for? You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.

Hey Andrew, how did things go with measuring your 4-leaf springs to check if they were centered? Once you confirmed the equal distance, did the setup with your trailer suspension work out as expected? Your update could make it easier for others working with similar springs.
