Where Does a Brake Controller Red Wire Install on a 2014 Chevy Express Van
Question:
which wire do i connect the red wire to, the chevy has a brake pedal position sensor connected to engine management system that has six wires to it.. not like the older brake light switch. confused..

The brake switch wire you are looking for on your 2014 Chevy Express Van should actually be a light blue wire coming out of the back of the BCM (body control module). The BCM is located behind the passenger's side dash. In order to access the BCM, you will need to remove the lower section of the dash on the passenger side of the vehicle. You will need the light blue with white stripe wire that is coming out of the brown connector as shown in the picture.
Use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to verify it is the correct wire. It needs to only have power when the brake pedal is pushed. If it also has power when the headlights or turn signals are used it is not the correct wire.
Another option is to use a fuse tap # F2526 and dedicated brake light fuse like in the video I have linked.
