Which Trailer Hitch Is Recommended For 2008 Mazda CX 9
Question:
In looking at the hitches for my vehicle there are approx 4 to choose from. Do you have any recommendations on the brand hitch for sturdiness, and fit/finish to contours of vehicle?

The Draw-Tite and Curt are top quality hitches as far as strength. As far as fitment on the vehicles, most manufacturers today try to make the hitch as least unobtrusive as possible when designing around the vehicle design.
When we recommend hitches we usually try to take into consideration how it looks on the vehicle. Like the hitch does not hang too low or that it does not stick too far out from the rear fascia. Also if the installation is easy to do or if it requires modifications.
On your 2008 Mazda CX-9 the four hitches you have available all are a simple bolt-on, with no modifications needed. Also looking at the instructions on all of the hitches it gives an idea of where it sits according to the rear fascia, and they all seem to be the same.
Curt Trailer Hitch for the 2008 CX-9 by Mazda, # 13575, you have referenced is the most popular option.
I am sending two video links, one of the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 13575, and the
other of the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75531, being installed on a Mazda CX-9. It will show you how the hitch looks after it is installed.
Also you will have to purchase the ballmount (Curt Ball Mount, #C45030,) a 2 inch hitch ball (Tow Ready Balls, # 19247,) or 1-7/8 inch hitch ball (Tow Ready Balls, # 19260,) pin and clip ( Hitch Pin and Clip, # PC3,) separately.
The wiring harness needed would be Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118520.
